I have a jewelry box full of broken necklaces, rings, earrings, charms... I'm thinking that maybe I should sell it for scrap but I've never done it before. I know that gold is high now but that I won't get anything close to that for my scrap.

If someones done this recently, I'd love to hear about your experience what you think that I might expect per once or gram for 14kt yellow gold.

I sold some old rings that were out of fashion and I would never use last month. I probably had 5 or 6 of them. i brought it to a place in my city that buys gold and I ended up with $275! It was more than I thought I would get, so I was happy!

I recently sold two 14K gold necklaces of the style popular in the 80's, my class ring which I haven't even looked at in 30 years, and an old diamond ring that my grandmother left me (it was the ugliest thing you ever saw). The jeweler said the diamond ring was junk. I ended up getting $600 total.

First of all your profit depends on the weight of the scrap gold and its purity. There are plenty of the web sites in internet, you’re right. And there are many of them who have negative reviews and I won’t name them. My mum was using scrap gold buyers online and was quite satisfied with their service. You can try them and make a god profit. You will get your payment fast as well.

My co-workers were talking about this at lunch yesterday. One went to a Cash for Gold Party and brought baout 6 pieces of random items (rings, necklaces, etc) and left with almost $500. She was hoping for around $200, so it was a good day for her.

I went to a Cash for Gold party Friday night. I didn't have too much, so I was hoping for about $50. I made $200! My mom made almost $1100. We were shocked.

The woman brought a machine that told her if the jewelry was gold or not. Some of the chains that weren't gold broke in the machine, so don't give anything that you want back. Then the stuff that was gold was weighed. The heavier the gold, the more money you get. It was lots of fun.

Well, send 3 pieces of gold to 3 different companies CashMyGold, Postal Gold, Money4Gold and Cash4Gold. You get quite unusual results. CashMyGold offered £38.57 for the gold I bought for £729, Money4Gold gave me the notice that 9ct gold I just bought is not gold and it cost £10.95 to send it back! Money you get from scrap gold buyers who advertize on TV and in high-class magazines is lower and lower just because it is YOU who have to pay for their advertizing. The market is developing all the time. The price for gold changes and you have to keep a record about it. Scrap Gold Buyers is one of the companies that deserve attention after checking up by time.

I was stupid enough to do cash 4 gold and my stuff was "lost". All they are offering me is $100. for the lost items. What was I thinking..:headache:

My aunt knows of a small town jewelry store near where she lives that advertises cash for gold. They have been in business for years and she knows them. I took in some of my late mother's gold and silver jewelry as well as some of my own. The first time I got $750, the second time $825! The first time I was hoping for maybe $300, shocked when he said $750! Be sure you are working with someone reputable.
