And had the items shipped to the resort? I *thought* I read somewhere that you can, but I'm wondering how far in advance I should be ordering.

Not Disney but had other stuff ordered to wait for me there. I discussed it with the merchant as he knew his shipping times, and he sent it in time to be waiting for me at the Poly.

I ordered from disneyshopping.com last trip and it was waiting for us when we arrived. I ordered about 2 weeks before in order to leave enough time, and I called the resort before we left to make sure it had showed up so that if not, I could start making phone calls from home (I'm a little neurotic I admit). When you order, in the name field for shipping just add "arriving xx/xx/06" so that the resort will know when you're getting in and they'll add a note to your reservation that there is a package waiting for you.
