Has anyone Shipped clothes/shoes to their resort? In the event that I want to ship some things to my resort so I don't have to carry as much luggage, how would I ship the stuff back home? Is there a post office or something in Disney? We're staying in SSR so we would be close to DTD.

thanks

Any resort with a business center can handle shipping it back for you, but it will probably cost a pretty penny. They don't offer a variety of services, just FedEx (unless it's a regular letter) and even FedEx's least expensive option is usually quite a bit more than UPS or USPS parcel post.

Last June the Polynesian concierge shipped a box home for me via UPS, the charges were actually reasonable. I have never tried shipping stuff down, though. I would call the desk at SSR and ask what options they have available.

I've shipped FedEx and UPS, but the form the Disney hotel people gave me also had a box for U.S. Mail.

I just told them I needed to ship stuff, and they sent boxes, a tapegun, and a form to my room (for a fee, of course). Told me to call when I wanted them picked up. They came and got them, and took care of the mailing lable for me. The charge was assessed to my room bill.

They didn't charge me extra for the shipping, just for the boxes, which were a little overpriced, but not extrodinarily overpriced.

I have shipped stuff to me.

Send it to yourself care of your resort.

Lable it outside with your name and arrival date and indicate Please hold for arrival on 11/11/1111. I did this on the top and sides so they could easily see it. Also, send it to the name on the reservation.

When you check in you can pick it up or if it's big bell services can deliver.

There are luggage delivery services too. You might find the links in threads on the Transportation forum, or ask there.
Heck, I just googled "luggage delivery" and tons of sites and ads popped up. I would price out those versus mailing, and then consider the security of your items as well. Don't pack anything you aren't prepared to never see again. (that goes for in the belly of the aircraft as well)

I prefer to just take my luggage with me. They have carts at the airport, and skycaps are everywhere, so why not take advantage of the free luggage allowance that comes with your airline ticket? :)

I LOVE USPS flat rate boxes. You could take a flat box in your suitcase, print out a label before you leave home, AND schedule pickup from your resort!

It will arrive in 2-3 days, and all for $7.70 regardless of weight......

Did I say that I LOVE the flat rate boxes?? ;)

I have looked into the Luggage Delivery services for my boss.....

VERY VERY EXPENSIVE. So I ship.
