DH and I (50-somethings) are thinking about going tonight. Any opinions? I know it rec'd good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

I saw it last night and it is visually STUNNING! When I first started watching it, I thought to myself, how on earth were they able to manipulate the animal's mouths?? Only to figure out half way through that they were actually animated, lol I also thought they had shot on location but was reading when I got home that the entire movie was shot on a soundstage. This film definitely brings CGI to a whole new level, I'm typically not a fan but it truly looked amazing.

I wouldn't say the film has a strong story line and the character development could have used some work, but the film is so beautiful that you don't really care about those things. I would definitely recommend seeing in theatre where you can fully experience it.

I'm curious too. We have a 10 yr old with some special needs. She has a hard time with anything too emotional or intense. (for years when she was little, we couldn't watch the Lion King, or Nemo, etc. too much with the parents dying). Is it very intense? Thanks!!

Really how is this movie different from a Pixar film? Animators working in the digital world are responsible for the vast majority of this movie. The line between what's called "Live Action" and "Animated" is getting blurry.

Yes, I would say there are definitely some intense scenes. I'm a highly sensitive person, and as much as I enjoyed this movie, I don't think at 10 years of age I would have.

We went with my 11 year old a week ago. It was something she had wanted to see as she new the stories so well from Cub Scouts.

She's quite sensitive when it comes to animals and there were tears in some parts. There were also parts that made her jump. There was a stage at towards the end where she could see what was going to happen and wanted to leave the cinema. We went out for about 10 minutes and came back in for the last few minutes of the movie. It was very intense but there were also parts that she really loved. My husband (53) thought it was fantastic.

Our family saw it this morning. We all thought it was great. The boy who played Mowgli totally captured the spirit of Mowgli from the animated version from many years ago. I mean, he was spot on.

Christopher Walken does the voice of King Louie and that was totally awesome. He sang, too. Bill Murray does the voice of Baloo and he was great in it.

You should stay for the credit because there is some really cool stuff while the first part of the credits are rolling.

Jon Favreau did a fabulous job. It reminded me a lot of seeing the animated version as a kid. Visually it was really stunning and really cool to watch.

If you are in any way a fan of Disney or the animated Jungle Book movie, your priority should be getting to a giant screen 3-D theater to see this, immediately. It is SO good. And it absolutely needs to be experienced on the big screen. This is NOT a "wait for it come out on DVD" movie.

We took our 3 year old last night, she loved it. She did say that Kaa the snake was scary, but she's scared of snakes anyway. The story is a bit of a snooze fest but like other say, it is a beautifully done movie.

Thanks everyone for your input. We just saw Zootopia today, and it sounds like the Jungle Book might be too much now. Zootopia was fun---even our 18 yr old loved it.
