Has anyone seen "The Day After Tomorrow"?

Well, My kids liked what they saw. It didn't start playing until almost 11pm, they fell asleep before it was over. I enjoyed the movie, but will remember to bring extra blankets the next time we go to the drive in. We were freezing! :)

We saw this movie yesterday and thought it was ok. Just leave your brain at the door before you enter the theater and you will be fine because there are so many silly situations in this movie you swear it was a comedy.
That's pretty much what I thought, too...by the end of the movie, my friend and I were cracking up, because it had pretty much turned into "what else can possibly go wrong for the main characters?" We also thought it was rather predictable.

The idea is very good and thought provoking...it was a little bit scary to think about the fact that that stuff could actually happen, and my friends and I all said we would have completely freaked out if it had been raining or something when we left the theatre! But I thought the movie itself moved very slowly and the situations were believable at first, but quickly became completely ridiculous, lol.

I liked it!! :teeth: I LOVE disaster movies !!
Just wish I would have brought a blanket.....it made me cold!
I will never complain about my weather again ;)

My mom wanted to see this. We just got back. I thought it was pretty stupid. I was laughing at parts that I don't think were supposed to be funny, like the kids being chased by wolves on the boat.

It was OK, I am glad I only paid 4.50 to see it.:p Lots of un-answered questions...like What ever happened to the wolves? What happened to the little boy in the Hospital? Did his Parents make it?

Our friends saw it and recommended we wait for the $1
movie to see it IF we see it. they said it was "laughable."

It was an Arctic Poseidon Adventure. :p

If you like disaster movies and all the goofy storylines that go with them, you'll love this movie.

And *gasp* it WAS raining when we came out of the movie...and raining HARD!!!
I figured I'd really start to worry if we saw wolves hanging around the restaurant we went to afterwards, but *whew* we were safe!

Not yet, but possibly will be next weekend

It should be in the comedy section of video store when it comes out. Very entertaining and great special effects but laughable and predictable. Just make sure when you leave the theatre to yell out to everyone that it can't ever happen like that and that its just another tool of the left by the hollywood liberal elite. I know that I yelled it outloud, I probably embarassed my brother and his girlfriend but a lot of people echoed my statements and thanked me for saying it as we walked out of the theatre.

Case in point, the main character of the movie drove a hybrid car. What made me happy about it was that in the packed movie theatre I was in, a lot of people started laughing because they could just see that some environmental wacko wrote that in.

I loved some of the irony in the movie though, the Fox News thing was funny, along with Mexico trying to keep Americans out, that one really made me laugh. Wouldn't recommend it to go see but one to definetly rent.

DH and I just saw it today - the effects were great, and it was what I expected it to be - a fun summer movie (I wasn't expecting a great epic). DH was really annoyed at how much of the movie was shown in trailers, esp. the 10 minute one on TV last week - there was nothing left to surprise you. I guess you should try to avoid the hype if you want surprises. It was worth the $5.75 matinee price we paid, IMO.

I guess that I'm a bit of an "environmental wacko" but I don't believe the messages in this movie and I don't drive a hybrid. Sometimes it's nice not to paint a group of people with the same broad brush.

We saw it he other day and thought it was good for what it was supposed to be, an entertaining summer disaster movie. It was awesome at that, with maybe a little less tenseness than say....Terminator had. I think it's because there was no "bad guy" popping out of the shadows to grab-me-gotcha....if you know what I mean.
Don't go see it to get "clued" ionto global warming or some other nonsense. Just go see it to have fun. My Ds's (15 & 12) really liked it,although the 12 yr old didn't care for the ending. Too blah I guess with just the visual of the earth from space.

Don't take offense,ok? Sometimes those of us who live in close proximity to real "environmental wacko's" (someone else's words, not mine)have a low tolerance for them. Not sure if this is the case of the other poster, but it may be. That said, we should all try and get along and let everyone have their own opinions without bashing the other guy. Have a great day!

Far be it for me to speak for somebidy else, but if you don't believe in the messages of this movie, I doubt anyone would consider you an "environmentalist wacko." I fail to see how driving a hybrid car is fantical environmentalism, though in the movie it is propaganda, I'd drive one if they could work for me like I need one to.

I can't wait to see this! I love disaster movies! Especially ones about global warming. I knew I was right all along. I knew the second ice age was coming........;)

Havent seen the movie yet...and dont plan too until Im done housesitting here...but I tell you what, last night I thought I was going to LIVE the movie! :p

Wasn't painting anyone group with a broad brush. I'd drive a hybrid if it was worth it but the amount of driving I actually do and the money I spend on gas plus the extra 3 or 4 grand a hybrid cost just isn't worth it. It was just all the little messages the movie kept sending. And when half the audience laughed along with me, I knew I wasn't alone in the irony.

We saw it today and afterward I remarked to DH, "Gee..... no obligatory sex scene, absolutely no nudity, and no strong language. I guess it really was the beginning of a new age!!!!!!"

Seriously, I loved it and thought the teens in it were portrayed in a great manner.

Without giving away too much, I really enjoyed how the homeless guy ended up working with the guy who had everything to help each other survive.

I really liked the movie but DH thought it was slow at times. I could have done without the wolves, though. I want to see it again.

Too doggone cold for nudity!! I thought it was a great movie, effects were amazing. You really could believe that all this "weather" stuff was happening. I also liked the homeless guy working with the well-off guy to help. And I am one of those who can't stand to see a dog die in a film. I have yet to see "Old Yeller" again since I saw it at about 7 yrs. old.

The scientific jargon and theories sort of glazed my eyes over, but I thought that it was really well done for entertainment purposes.::yes::
