The touring version of Lion King is coming to Wisconsin in May. I got a flyer in the mail on Saturday that Disney Visa cardholders could get tickets in advance for the show. I think I'm going to get tickets for my 10 year old DD and I. :cool1:

I'm sure I've heard that it's a good show. What did you all think of it? We may get seats higher up, because they're cheaper, not sure though.

I can't wait. I'm so excited, I've never seen a Broadway type show.:)

You and your DD will love it.:thumbsup2 To me it is one of the best shows on Broadway, the costumes are ingenious and the music is divine.

Have a great time.

Yes! It is absolutely breathtaking!

It is amazing and shouldn't be missed if you have the opportunity and ability to go.

Definitely go!!! DH & I loved it! The music, spirit, acts, costumes and scenery, were all wonderful!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

While not my favorite show, I would still recommend it. The sets and the costumes are incredible!!

It's a wonderful show. DH and I took the kids (DD10 and DS6) to see the touring production in May. They loved it! :)

We saw it in Milwaukee last year and it was great! Definitely make plans to see it. It will be great no matter where you sit but I would buy the best seats you can afford. Have fun!

While I live in the Milwaukee area, our family has seen this show 2 times, the first in Indianapolis when DD was about 10, and in Des Moines Iowa when DD was 12. We LOVED this show!...Try to get great seats in the orchestra - it will be worth it.

Now - oddly enough when the show finally came to Wisconsin - we opted to see something different - I think we saw Wicked instead.

We saw it this past weekend...it was wonderful. If at all possible get good seats. Dont settle for ones far away. We had great seats...about 6 rows back center......friends got tickets father away and used binoculars...she said if she had to do it again she would spend the extra money to be much closer.

Have a a great time. :woohoo:

It is a great show! I have seen it twice and still get goosebumps thinking about the opening sequence of the show. :goodvibes If you want a sneak peek go to youtube and type in lion king on dancing with the stars in the search box. The L.A. cast made an appearance on the show back in September.:thumbsup2

We saw it when it first opened up on broadway gosh I guess 10 years ago? It brought tears to my eyes it was so beautiful!

I had read somewhere that closer seats aren't that great for this show, because the animals are so big and there's so much going on on the stage, that it's better to be farther back.:confused3 What do you think? And I suppose center would be better than closer up to the left or right, correct? I just want to get the best seats that we can.

It's at the Overture Center in Madison, WI, which I've never been to. But there's the main floor and than it looks like 3 levels above the main floor. I was thinking maybe the first level above the main floor. There's still front row tickets available for $83. I was going to go higher up and cheaper, but maybe I shouldn't. :confused3

There didn't seem to be any orchestra seats available except way in the back and to the left or right or very close to the stage, which I don't think we want to be. The preferred seats are in the center 6-8 rows back, but those are $133! I'm not going to spend that much!

Thanks for the help! Anyone have any recommendations for seating at the Overture Center?

It's my favorite broadway show! I saw it when it was touring last year and it was wonderful! I cried as well. I would go if you have a chance.

We had the highest section, about 1/2 way down them, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. You could see everything and the music was still great! I actually had some friends go, they fell asleep during it, and said they thought the music was horrible. I couldn't imagine how you would but I guess they just didn't care for it.

It's a GREAT show!
You won't be disappointed.

its AMAZING.

the best seats (not to be a spoiler or anything) are aisle orchestra seats.
