Has anyone seen the Broadway version of Lion King?

This show is great!! Definitely go see it!

We saw it when it was in Milwaukee (I think it was last year?) and it was amazing. Definitely worth seeing. :thumbsup2

It is a fantastic show! I saw it on the highest row on the highest balcony and really enjoyed the fact that I could see everything (my theatre only had 2 levels above the main floor, though). There were a few times I wished I was closer so I could see the actors' expressions, but for overall experience I liked my seats.

I would say if you can afford them, go for the lowest balcony. I think floor level, especially close to the front, would be a bit overwhelming because the animals are huge and the stage is so big... I prefer being a bit further away so that I can see everything at once rather than having to physically turn my head to look different places.

It was awesome! :thumbsup2 I would see it again in a heartbeat!

Wow, how often do you see unanimous praise for anything on the Dis? I'll continue with the accolades. it is a truly excellent show.

I'm not familiar with the venue in question, but I think seats in kind of the mid-range would be ideal. Too close and you will not be able to take in the full spectacle. Too far back, you'll miss smaller details. Enjoy the show, and please let us know if you liked it.:earsboy:

Thanks everyone for your help! I ordered tickets today!
They are going fast though! So we had to get farther up than I really wanted. Hope we got good seats. :confused3 They're in the front row of the 2nd level off the floor. There were no seats left in my price range in the orchestra section and the first level off the floor were back to the sixth row and off to the side, so we took the front row center in the 2nd level up (might be pretty high). There is still another section above us, so we aren't the farthest away!

Can't wait though! I'll report back after the show, but it isn't 'til May! :goodvibes

AWESOME, OP, You are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE this show. I have seen it 3x on Broadway. Loved it every single time.

The actors perform in the aisles and you will be able to see that all very nicely from your seats. :thumbsup2

We saw it about 10 years ago too. It was wonderful!! I would love to see it again one day. Have a great time. :)

We saw it when it first opened up on broadway gosh I guess 10 years ago? It brought tears to my eyes it was so beautiful!

We took our 2 older boys when it opened on Broadway as well.............. so I know it has been at least that long ago............ my youngest wasn't born yet and he's 10!!

It was absolutely amazing - we loved it. I'm going to find out if it's coming here, I know I'd love to see it again!!!

Saw it about 5 years ago! Absolutely took my breath away. I was so sad that my kids weren't there. DH surprised me with a trip to NYC to see some shows. It is the kind of show that all my kids would have loved! I'm so glad you are getting to see it! If it ever comes near us, I'll take my kids in a heartbeat!!!

This is a great show. Saw it in Hartford. I see that it coming to Hartford again in January. emmmm May have to go again.

I'm back today from seeing the Lion King! We loved it! It was so amazing! :yay: A lot of the time I was just mesmerized by what was happening on stage. We were pretty high up (there were still lots of seats above us though), but I still loved it! I would like to be a little closer if I ever see it again (which I hope to), so I could see the costumes close up.

It was beautiful! Does anyone know if they have a DVD of the show? That would be really neat! :goodvibes

My DD, DGS, DGD & I went to see it on Tuesday. Awesome! For what they had spacewise they did a super job. The theater aisles were even used! The costumes were amazing & so were the sets. It was awesome!

We don't know how different the touring version is vs the Broadway show though. It was just great to see what we did get.

The 4 of us were thrilled but the music didn't do as much for me as the movie. Next is WICKED! Can't wait!

We're hoping to get tickets for Wicked also. It's in Madison Sept and Oct. Can't wait!

We loved it so much we have seen it twice. The first time was in London and we had seats on the floor, the second time I saw it was in Norfolk and we had seats pretty high up. Both shows were great, but if at all possible I would get seats on the floor, don't want to spoil it for you, just know the experience, in my opinion, is better from the floor.

I saw the touring version several years back and it was incredible!
