Ken's pictures are fantastic! The drydock is named the Titan, and it's a part of Norshipco (Norfolk Shipbuilding & Drydock, Corp.) in Norfolk, Virginia. Ken's pics are much clearer and closer than mine. Mine were taken when the drydock was being pumped out. Since Ken's pics are so great, I won't post mine. Mine were taken from Waterside which is across the water (Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River) from the drydock. Great pictures, Ken. I know you made a lot of people happy. It's a beautiful sight.
BTW - My mom & step dad are sailing on the Wonder for their first curise on Oct. 19. They're 79 & 82 years old and were so excited when they saw the Magic on its way into drydock. I hope and pray they have a magical trip. Again, thanks for the pictures Ken.

spectro fan.....I just came off the 9/25 Wonder with my 84 year old aunt....she LOVED IT!!! Wants to know when we can go again!!

We saw the shows, movies, had great dinners, played bingo, sat up on deck....had snacks out on our veranda....a very lovely 3 day cruise!!!

mmouse37, Thanks for sharing your experience with your 84 year old aunt. Glad she had a great time! You've calmed my concerns. I know my parents will love the entertainment, food, and overall experience, but I've been a bit concerned, because it will be just the two of them traveling alone. They're spry for their ages and anxious to go, so I'm sure they'll have the best vacation of their lives. I'm glad to hear that other older folks cruise on the Wonder. The activities you've described are exactly what I've been talking to them about. Seeing Magic in drydock made them giggle like teenagers. They've read (and re-read) PassPorter for DCL and are ready to sail! Thanks for your reply!

It looks as though they haven't started work on the rear stack yet but were re-painting the hull.

When we were aboard in August, I noticed that the red hull paint was badly worn.

Great photos of the Magic in dry dock, thanks. Daughter is server on board the ship, and is enjoying a very "different" two weeks in Virginia. The crew are working extremely hard to get the ship shining like a new pin for future guests. I think it leaves Norfolk on Wednesday, so keep an eye out for it!

Thanks for the pictures...it is truely a beautiful boat! my family and i were lucky enough to be the among the first group that sailed after the dry dock! everything was even more beautiful then before! it was so amazing when we drove into port canaveral on friday night and saw the disney magic, it was so remarkable...we had to drive by and take a million pictures! my aunt and i just freak out everytime we see the boat so you can imagine how happy we were that night...
