Just curious.
2%How much of this resort has Disney sold so far?
No it’s sales are abysmal. Is 2% on par with other new DVCs? I think they really dropped the ball by not pushing forward with Reflections and will probably come to regret it.
Most DVCs sell 2%+ of their points on the first day.Is 2% on par with other new DVCs? I think they really dropped the ball by not pushing forward with Reflections and will probably come to regret it.
Agreed. They need a large tower style resort with low dues to balance out the average dues of the cabins. Obviously they've recognized that as well since they've started construction already but until then sales will continue to be abysmal. I didn't think Disney would honestly care that sales were going poorly tbh because I'm sure they can sell these cabins for cash but them starting to build Reflections 2.0 makes me think they care more than I thought. Is 2% on par with other new DVCs? Which is too bad because the Cabins on their own are amazing. Some lament the lack of laundry, but if you had stayed at the Fort prior, you are used to using the Comfort Stations. In fact, where we were in the 2500 loop last time would have been an under 5 minute walk to the DVC laundry at the Wilderness pool. We will be back for NYE and can't wait.Agreed. No, even the guides admit that cabin sales have been a disaster. Is 2% on par with other new DVCs? I think they really dropped the ball by not pushing forward with Reflections and will probably come to regret it.
We met with our guide on property on Thursday. He admitted it and agreed that a W/D would have been a better choice than a second sink area. Not that it would have "sold" extra cabins, but it certainly would remove the obstacle of not having in villa laundry. No, even the guides admit that cabin sales have been a disaster.
The no laundry aspect was a cost cutting measure for Disney?
I think it was more a matter of just replacing what was there with basically a copy of what was there. You can call it a cost cutting measure but putting in the water and drains for a washer dryer would have likely required replacing all the slabs; instead they reused them where they were in good shape. The no laundry aspect was a cost cutting measure for Disney?
Because lots of members want to stay there, but few want to own there. Also, I think only about 60-65 cabins are declared so far for members to book with points. As bad as sales are why is it that you can't book a Cabin for Nov - March, there are only a few stray days of availability going all the way into the first week of June
We were the right candidates for CFW, too, but not with those dues. We recently stayed at Fort Wilderness, van camping in a tent site for 2 nights to experience Halloween there, after a 4 night stay in an AKL studio and I kept thinking about how I wish we were staying in a cabin.Which is too bad because the Cabins on their own are amazing. All that said, you'd think we would have been the perfect candidate for a CFW add-on, and yes, we really would be... but those DUES! We'll see if Reflections/River Country Lodge helps this...
