Has anyone seen a large castle wall stencil?

I'm interested in doing a disney themed room for my dd. I have bought several of the different disney wall stick-ups and I would love to put a large castle in the center of the mural. I was thinking a large stencil or maybe the overhead projector idea; but I'm having a hard time finding a projector.

I was even thinking about decoupaging a cut out castle from a poster to the wall; but I'm not sure if that would be a great idea. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks-
Deb :)

I just picked up a castle stencil at A.C. Moore.

it's probably like a 5x7. It was in the stencil section. Perhaps with the projector you can enlarge it?

I have not seen a castle stencil per se, but I remember a while back someone over on the Budget Board was wanting to do the same thing in their DD's room. Someone on that thread posted a link to a picture of one someone was selling on e-Bay, and it was really cute! I wish I knew how to post links, but I don't. If you go over on the Budget Board and run a search on that forum, you may find that thread. I think it was under a "Princess Bedroom" or something of that sort. There were all kinds of cute ideas. Someone also posted a picture of a crown made out of wood with the curtains hanging down over the bed (what do you call those things??). Anywho, go look over there and hopefully you can find that thread.

For my DD's room, she has a sort of Princessy like theme going. I bought an oval shaped mirror and hot glued a pink feather boa around the edges and hung it with ribbon over the headboard of her bed. She has pink mosquito netting hanging over the whole bed which I got at Cato's. I've seen these at Wal Mart lately too. About a month ago, they had all sorts of "Princess" items over in the domestics dept.--mirrors, pillows, netting, throws.

I agree about using the overhead projector to enlarge the image. I've seen that done before on lots of decorating shows.

Let us know what you find out and how it goes! Good luck!

Hi, I have not seen one. Though a little different way. My brother-inlaw cut a huge castle out of wood, cut out windows, painted with paint and sparkles. Then put mini lights in the windows. Now my neice has a princess HEADBOARD.

Thanks for the replys everyone. I will definitely do a search over on the budget board. That headboard sounds adorable.

Well, I tried to paste a link to the thread over on the Budget Board, but I just can't get it to work. The title of the thread is "Disney Priness Bedding". I just ran the search for "castle mural" and this one thread came up. It's the right one you want to look at. Sorry I can't post the link, but this should help.

I forgot to add..... a couple of months ago (I think February) there was a project in Parents magazine of a cute Princess wreath that was made from a foam wreath shape and covered in a feather boa and then little trinkets you could find at the Dollar Tree or Wal Mart. I wish I would have remembered to pick some of the boas up on my recent New Orleans trip. They were only 2/$5 in the French Market---all kinds of beautiful colors!

Sweet Maxine- Thank you so much!

I found the link on the budget board and I have been in contact w/ the artist of that mural that was shown on ebay. I think this is the way I'm going to go. It's definitely the most cost effective and since I'm not by any means an artist; it will probably come out the nicest too.

Thanks again for the ideas. I am so excited!

Deb :)

You're welcome!

I thought that mural was gorgeous, and I'm glad you were able to find the thread I mentioned. It had lots of good ideas for a Princess-themed room.

Good luck with your decorating!
