The rates seem really high still and was wondering if anyone has gotten a deal yet, or went ahead and booked anyway? I need something for 8 people. So either a large van, or two minivans or two compact cars. :confused3 Ive never seen prices this high before, but we did discover we are going during Pop Warner and are wondering if this might be the reason?:headache:

I booked back in Feb for Dec. Rates have gone up, but there are some begining cracks in the price ceiling. Budget has a deal on Midsize Suvs IIRC $149/week? Anyway, I suspect there will soon be a December rate thread starting...good luck!

We booked ours about 3 months ago for the first week in December, but we're using our Hertz points for our rental, so the price is pretty much irrelavant.

I just for 12/1-12/17 for $121 which really means $178 from Dollar. Thrifty has the same deal.

Thanks for the heads up... I saved close to $100 on my Nov/Dec rental for lax w/ no code needed (there was a city special rate). :woohoo:

How did you get this? The cheapest I can find right now is Alamo at $291 (total after everything) for 12/3 -12/13. I booked it but will keep looking. I do like Alamo because they have that little machine you can check in with. Does any other company offer that? I hate waiting in lines.

how do you find is the best way to check rates? do you go on each site individually or something like expedia?

I just got a great deal form hotwire for 12/14-12/27 (an expensive time of year). I had booked a midsize car at Enterprise for a total of $354. It was the best price I could find by far. And I needed somewhere I could rent with a debit card. But I just booked hotwire for a Fullsize car for $317 from Hertz. It is non-refundable but so are my flights so no biggie. When I checked the Hertz site it listed the quote as over $800 (same dates and car type).
