Has anyone recently rope dropped FOP?

Has anyone here recently rope dropped FOP? I already read the wdwinfo blog. I'm wondering what time we should arrive at AK for a 9:00 opening. If you've done this, can you let me know what time you arrived and how long the wait was?

We were there two weeks ago and arrived at AK at 7:45 for a 9:00 opening. They let us into the park at 8:30 and then dropped the rope at Pandora at 8:45. We rode FOP and were in the gift shop at 9:15. The way I look at this - we waited 1hr and 15 minutes to ride, but it was so worth it!

I rope dropped on July 20th. It was a 9 am opening. We got there at 7:20. We were let in around 8/8:15 then held at the Pandora bridge for about 25 minutes. We were probably in the first 100 people or so to ride. We got off and the wait was 175 minutes. We went to Navi and it said 20 minutes, but it was more like 10. We were off both rides by 9:30. FOP was up to 240 by 11 am when we park hopped and stayed at 240 until evening. It was at 170 when we came back at 10 pm.

We were at DAK July 18. We arrived at 8:00 (I wanted to arrive earlier, but those darn Disney busses had other plans for us). We were let in the tapstiles at the main entrance at 8:20 and waited on the bridge into Pandora until about 8:40, when they led us to the entrance. We were off of FoP at 9:21

I'm curious what to expect on a EMH morning with 8am opening? Should we plan to be there are 6:30am or do we have a bit more cushion since it's not the entire public fighting for those early spots?

So, we did it this morning! We got to AK at about 7:45 by bus and waited at the bag check until about 8:00. Then we walked a little further up to the turnstiles where let us in at about 8:20. They brought us to the bridge where we waited until 8:45 and then led to FoP. By the time we got off at 9:25, the wait was 120 minutes and we could not believe how long the line was. Rope Drop or FP+ is the way to enjoy this ride!
