Has anyone paid DDP tips using Disney Rewards?

I have Disney Reward Dollars on my Disney Visa which I will cash in for our upcoming trip. Can I use this to pay tips on meals? If so, do you know if it is treated as a credit card charge or some kind of cash equivalent? I know some restaurants "charge" the credit card service fee to the servers, reducing their tips.

I am planning to charge all my tips back to my room. At the end of the stay, I will clear my room charges with my reward points.

This will work won't it!:confused3

Don't see why not. We always pay for the DDP with our Rewards Points when we check in -should work the same way.

That is exactly what we did on our Jan trip. It worked out great, we did not have to carry any cash with us.

So, we can charge the tips to our room? That's great. We are racking up points for our December trip and would like to use them for tips or breakfast at CRT. But I wasn't sure if everyplace took points.

Can you use points towards anything charged back to your room?

They treat points just like a credit card at the resorts - just make sure you transfer your points before you leave, and its a good idea to know how many you have.

So points can be used anywhere, including CRT? I was checking the rewards site and it had the most popular locations, but I wasn't sure if that was all the locations that accepted them.

The new restaurant at Animal Kingdom (Yak and Yeti?) is not owned by Disney...also some of the places on Boardwalk (piano bar) and Down Town Disney (Fulton's, Rain Forest Cafe) probably don't take it...because they are not Disney managed or owned businesses?

Swan Dolphin? Do they take it?

you can just present the reward card(s) @ checkin in lieu of credit card for purchases if you like.:thumbsup2

we've always spent more though & then settled up w/a CC on file

We have never had a problem using our rewards points anywhere at WDW - dining , shopping or at various resorts. Once you load your points onto the card, it works just like a debit card. The receipt you get after your purchase will have your remaining balance on it.
