A friend that travels extensively told me that he's seen luggage come out at baggage claim shrink wrapped. He says that if TSA searches your luggage and you've used those space saver bags they won't be able to get it back in suitcase the way you did so they just wrap the bag in plastic.
Not sure if it's true or not, but thought I'd pass it along as something to think about
This is true I have used them (pillow as well) and they work great No vacumme they just roll them.I don't use them anymore because of the weight restictions and the TSA problem.
We used them for our trip in October for our Halloween costumes and I thought that they were great for big bulky Halloween costumes, but I would probably not use them all the time. Vacuuming is BY FAR better than rolling - to me the rolling doesn't take THAT much air out, so it is kind of a waste.
We've used them on several dozen trips.. mostly for tshirts. They're great.. One tip though - we fold the tshirts carefully (gap style, ya know with a clipboard) so that they are all the same size... then they slide in much easier and don't wrinkle at all.
I am curious as one of the other posts mentions checking the luggage. Has anyone done this and had them opened up when they check the luggage?? Isnt this a big problem??
