Hi - I have a waitlist for just 1 night of my stay in October - it is for Sunday Oct 19th - what if it never comes through?? Should I take anything for that night & move back & forth?? or book something else for entire stay?? I hope it comes through!! Please advise! Thanks!

I have not gotten a waitlist before-3 nights in Oct. but this was before BCV was open. It was for a studio at BWV, but we still had OKW, so we weren't "out". Is this for your first night or last night? I would say either take somewhere else so you'd have somewhere or maybe book it with cash(maybe you can get the DVC discount of 25%) so you wouldn't have to move.

We also were on a waitlist for this past July for BWV and didn't get it either(but it was for July 8-11, so right after the 4th, which is a busy time)

Hope it works out for you!

Jen

It's for my 2nd night of stay - the only properties available for my length of stay are non-DVC - all DVC properties have only 1 or 2 nights here & there except BWV which had all my nights except this 1. And BWV was my first choice anyway so I waitlisted the 1 night & confirmed the rest w/fingers crossed - should I call them to keep checking or will they contact me as soon as the night becomes available?? Will they call if it's getting late & it's still not available?

my waitlist came through for me , i was on the waitlist back in the end of june for the first week of aug. at the bwv sun -thurs,
studio. the 3rd week of july my sister and family wanted to come so, i waitlist for another studio, a week before our arrivial the waitlist came through for them at the bcv except for thurs, but did get the wlv for thurs for them. while we were down there every night i would ask if thurs was avaible for the bcv and finally they night before moving to the wlv we got it, they just transfered my points from the wlv to the bcv. yahoo.
ms will only call you up to 7 days prior to your arrivial if something is avaibable, otherwise your name falls off the list the 7 night before, but you can keep calling afterwards and keep asking up to the day of the stay. good luck:)

If you are worried - call MS tell them you will take anything for that one night at any WDW DVC resort.

also say that you want to remaind of the waitlist for BWV. Unless of course the resort that they find is BWV.

I've used the waitlist twice -- once for a January vacation, once for end of May vacation. Both times we didn't get the waitlist. Neither was a big deal though -- in one case it was to go from a studio to a one-bedroom at OKW. The other was to stay at BW, but only in a standard view, instead of OKW (we knew we weren't getting this one!).

I'd book whatever you can get for the single night and set up the waitlist to cancel the existing single night if the waitlist comes through. Otherwise, you may be left with no room!

We've been on the waitlist since early May for Oct. 18-24th at BCV.

FINALLY--two nights (18th and 23rd) came through just this past weekend. Still waiting on the rest with my fingers crossed (and toes, etc). We have a OKW ressie backup so if the rest of the nights don't come through I'll just cancel the BCV ressie and stay with OKW. Don't give up hope yet!!

I waitlisted last month for a standard view studio at BWV for 11/10-11/14, and it came through last week. That was a shorter wait than I had expected. I did call MS and asked if it helped to call periodically, and they said "no", they will call when something becomes available. It did and they did! Just my luck I was out of town for the week-end, but their message said they would hold the waitlist until Tuesday. I also was waitlisted for one night for a 1BR standard view at BWV. I had 3 nites, but needed four, and that waitlist came through also last week. I feel very lucky since I know November can be tough with the Food&Wine festival.

Thanks to everyone - I feel a little better! I only need that 1 night so it's killing me!! I was originally waitlisted for a Studio anywhere but then started thinking if nothing comes thru I'll be stuck w/out a room so I called back the next day to see if there was a 1BR available anywhere & luckily (kinda) out of my 4 nights 3 were available at BWV which was my first choice to stay & the other 3 properties had only 1 nt here & 1 nt there - no one had more than 1 nt except BWV so I held those 3 nights waitlisting the 1 night I still needed & kept myself on the waitlist for all 4 properties in a Studio - do you think I should just be patient or should I make sure to get something - anything - for the 1 night I need - I don't want to go Disney collection because then the points can't be switched over in case a DVC property does come through. Also, I already checked cash res & the only properties available with discount(s) were GF, Poly & AKL so too pricey!! I know I have 2 months approx. so I guess I'll be patient - when it gets down to 7 days before I'll start to panic!
