We were at mco going home to cleveland on june 1st. We had a 5:45 pm flight and got to the airport a little before 3 pm. There were a bunch of lines clustered together and we were in lne at far left. It was going very slowly and once we got past the tsa screening to go through machines we discovered why. All the people in the lines to the right of us were going in front of us. We made some noise and finally one if the tsa guys realized w hat was happening and stopped the people so we could get by. Once we got past, it went smoother. The funny thing was, there were about 30 seats open on our flight and when I checked almost every other day before the flight there were only a couple seats left. So I wonder if people missed their flight.

They have that special screening machine to the left, once the tsa checks your boarding pass and Id you want to stay to the right to avoid that special screening machine, it is much faster if you stay to the right.

False, some airports have the family line all the way to the right. This would obviously be a very slow line. At my home airport the left lane is for experienced travelers and moves very fast.

The question was about MCO........not all airports.

All airports are different. At PIT, I tried to avoid the line with the body scanner and got called over to the line with it by the TSA guard.

The question was about MCO........not all airports.

Actually the question was - HAS ANYONE MISSED THEIR FLIGHT HOME BECAUSE OF SECURITY LINES?

It had nothing to do with the "special screening machine" and was not specific to MCO.

OP - no, I've never missed a flight due to a security line. However, I tend to show up at the airport with time to spare (and, if available, can usually go through the "priority/gold star/first class" line).

Actually OP said MCO......read the whole post which is the whole question.

Yes, people have missed their flights at MCO do to the TSA and that was BEFORE the new machines. If you arrive early sit in the gate area and watch....

This is a Disney Board............I don't think people care to know if people miss flights all over the country...........

Thank you for answering the OP question...........well done:) I see some people here can comprehend :yay:

Actually, the OP asked a question:

Two different issues. One was an "ever" question, and one was a musing about a specific flight.

And speaking of jumping to conclusions, not every passenger flying out of MCO is flying home. Don't understand how you inferred that from the OP's post :confused3

Actually it is a transportation board on a Disney message site. People can and do use the information they get here to help them with trips to places other than WDW.

Returning to the original question (play nicely people) I'm sure that some people have missed their flight home because of security lines. But that was more likely the result of poor planning on their part.

As far as security at MCO goes, keep in mind that there are two separate security screening locations and the layout may be different. Which one you use depends on what airline you are flying.

I agree with you. I think what the OP encountered was the exception, not the norm. Even traveling during Spring Break the longest I have been in the security line is 30 minutes.

I will add that even with the 3 hour ahead pick-up time, sometimes Magical Express doesn't get you to the airport with a lot of time to kill. My trip last December we had only 20 minutes after clearing security before boarding started. Thank goodness we had used RAC!

I did read the whole question.

Apparently, you lack the ability to either read or comprehend (not sure which).

Doesn't matter. The OP is getting her question answered by those who can.

This is what it says on top of the site above the question, disney trip planning forum, transportation. The OP question was referring to MCO, the airport she flew home from, I didn't make that up. Read it.
If you want more information on air travel all over the world go to a site like flyertalk.com.

You are a bit new here, so maybe you don't realize that not everything on these boards pertains directly to Disney. Over on the budget board they talk about everything budget related, not just about how to save money on a trip to or at WDW. On the transportation board we discuss all things transportation related, not just how to get to and from WDW.

Maybe you need to check things out a bit and understand how they really work before you start attacking people and calling them names.

A flight home from Disney could originate in MCO, TPA, SFB etc. A flight to Disney, part of planning a Disney trip but not the OPs question, could originate in almost any airport.

Some people ask non-Disney transportation questions. DIS allows topics which aren't Disney.

True

But OP was flying home from MCO, Her concerns were from that airport. I don't believe she was concerned about people flying home from LAX on June 1st.

Wasn't attacking anyone or calling anyone names just answering the OP question as to what I saw in the MCO airport just last week when we were there.

From now on I will just ask questions and not answer any.

Sorry if I offended anyone, just answering the question based on my experience there(MCO) just 7 days ago.

This is a public discussion board. Sometimes posts are information intended for readers other then the OP.

Technically the OP was asking/wondering if anyone missed the specific flight they were taking due to security issues. The subject heading was more general but the question posed in the actual post was specific.

You're as guilty as not responding literally to the OPs question as anyone else in this thread.
