Has anyone here used the Teachers Rate at Swan or Dolphin?

DW and I are looking to book a quick last minute end of summer trip and we're considering trying out Swan or Dolphin. The room rates don't look bad at all, but I know they also offer a Teacher's rate. Just wondering if anyone has used this and if so, was it really any better than the other rates offered? Hi. I haven't used the teacher's rate, but have used the nurse's rate before. Since Starwood and Marriott merged, the nurse's rate has not been any better than the SPG members' rate. In fact, I've seen it be higher than the SPG rate. Same with AAA rate.

Things might have changed as I last looked into this a few years ago, but they had time frames for when the rate was available, but it never coincided with my districts scheduled time off. The rates at that time was pretty good deals IMO.

It can vary greatly depending on the dates so you should and talk to a reservation clerk about dates that interest you.

Thanks for the responses everyone, we appreciate it! We could use our points for a 1 bedroom at SSR, but we always prefer staying at BWV (and the Epcot resort area in general) so that's what led us to consider Swan/Dolphin. The rates seem to be incredibly reasonable from what we've seen so far.

I agree the rates since the Marriott merger have not been that great, however I was just able to rebook my August trip for $150 per night using the SPG rate. So keep checking back to see if there is a better rate! I had been booked with a govt discount of $182 per night.
