...or seen the DVD "EOS XSi Guide with Rick Sammon"? The XSi package that Costco sells has it listed in the extra items. The local camera shop said they would match the Costco deal, but the guy there hadn't heard of this DVD. So I was just wondering if anyone had any opinion of it, is it worth having?

Also Costco lists the kit as coming with 2 books, "Great Photography Is Easy" and "Do More with Macro". Are these included in all the Canon Rebel kits or are they exclusive to Costco? I'm just trying to make a decision on where to buy the kit. The one big advantage to the photo shop is they do lay away so I could get the promo price that Canon is offering and not have to have all the money by the July 11 end date. Thanks for any advice.

rick sammon used to have a learning tutorial for the rebel line on canon usa it had some really basic stuff then so other moderately basic stuff if it's the same thing...you might check there( think it was under support for the product so try xsi then support) and see . i think the books come with all the new kits but i know for a while they also had a "do more with macro" section on the learning center which was basically a glorified ad for canon macro lenses but maybe the booklet is better

Thanks Jann. I just looked up the DVD on amazon. They have it there for about $10. Just wondering if anyone thought it was really helpful. Being that it is relatively inexpensive I'm not considering it a deal breaker. I think I'll make a trip back to the local camera shop and see if they are really serious about matching Costco's deal. It would be nice to have the bag to store everything in. This is one toy the kids are NOT to go near!

yesterday i was out with my granddaughter ( 4) and my 40d..she occasionally would use my xt (with my help) and wanted to use the 40d...she kept saying she wants to be a photographer when she grows up so i let her take a few with me hanging on to the tripod for dear life...i really need to remember to bring her camera with me so i don't have to share:rotfl:
