Has anyone heard about Illuminations being revamped?

I 've read somewhere on these boards about Illuminations being changed can anyone verify this?

I haven't heard or read anything about that. I'm curious to see if anyone says they know something about that.

A change would be good as long as they don't turn it into another Frozen themed show!

I just saw it recently. Definitely different than I remember. More use of the laser lights than I remember....reminded me more of the original. Except the globe still gets floated out. But much better I think....something definitely changed.

Jim Hill brings this up on his podcast every now & then, saying a new show is in development. But, that's the only place I've ever heard it. He's got a lot of inner circle contacts at Disney, so a lot of his predictions do pan out. It seems like he's been talking about this for a couple of years now though & I still haven't heard anything official.

Seeing as the current show is essentially 16 years old. I would guess that a new show is in some sort of development. There were strong rumors 4 or 5 years ago about a new show, but that was likely shelved for development of Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom. Illuminations and Fantasmic are both overdue for an overhaul IMHO.

More lasers and less fireworks would be less expensive and better for the environment. The show has been the same for so long we just watch it from a distance as we leave before the crowds.

I say bring back the original. I've never been a fan of the newer one. Despite often stay at BWV or BCV and being close, we don't often stay to see it. Probably one time every second or third trip.
