Has anyone had their reception at UK Epcot? Advice needed please

Hello everyone,

Is anyone out there having their whole wedding reception at the UK in Epcot?

This is mine and H2B's first choice but we cannot find any details on internet about it and so dont know if it will fit in with our budget.

Ideally we would love to hire the upper terrace and ive heard this costs around $500 for the privilege.

We havent decided if we are going to do escape or wishes package as yet, would we have to spend $100 per head for our meal regardless of what package we decide?

Can we all choose our meals seperately on the day or does it have to be predecided. If it has to be predecided can we all have something different or do we have to have the same? I have 2 vegetarians in my party, can they cater for this?

Also we would love to stay on for a dessert party and to watch the fireworks. Would this be included in the $100 min or do we have to spend $100 pp for meal and then pay for dp and fireworks on top?

We were also wondering about the timing of things. We are hoping for a 2pm ceremony so would we be able to go to the UK after this (well around 5pm after photos and things have been done) and stay until after the fireworks (since we have paid the rental fee) or does that rental fee only allow you to rent the terrace for a certain number of hours?

Also re wedding cake: if we have an escape wedding i know we would have a cake cutting ceremony at GF but what happens with wishes? Would we be able to have our cake delivered to the UK?

Any help to these questions would be a great help... my H2B does not want me to phone WDW to ask all this stuff and wants me to wait until Sept 08 when we are out there on holiday (we live in UK) but i cant wait until then so anything, anyone knows would be so very much appreciated.

From what I can make up on the Disney website you can only have your reception meal in Epcot if you have a wishes wedding. The reception time they give you is normally five hours. I think you can extend this for an extra cost. The cake cutting is done at the reception.

The cake cutting ceremony is only done at the GF for Escape brides if they get married at the WP. They have this as they do not have a reception.

I'm a new convert from Wishes to Escape, so am also interested in possible locations for a reception/meal.

Mouseweddings.com seems to indicate that you kind of have to arrrange your own group meals (and gives a list of recommendations for restaurants with private areas) with Escape, you don't seem to be entitled to a proper reception as it were.

We'd like somewhere either in the Epcot/Boardwalk or MK area to have a reception meal, and am hoping we can still add on an Epcot dessert party at the end of the day.

I need to do some more research into this and see what options are now available to us.....

I've just been reading your PJ, sounds like you've got loads of stuff done... i've actually PM'd whoopsdeedo to ask if she still had the email address for the disney employee that she spoke to you about as i think that is what i need to do, speak to someone who does the bookings lol
