Has anyone had luck getting general public RO discount this morning?

Just thought I'd let everyone know. Originally I had booked room only coronado springs with a AAA discount. total = $624.39
I just logged on to get the room only discount. EXACT same accomodations:$742.

So, if you already have ressies. Double check your rate isn't better than this "discount".

Doesn't make sense. Did you go to the special offers area to book. If you don't the cost will be rack rate.

Arrggghhh- so frustrated!!! Finally got a CM on the line after 50 min wait. And as soon as I gave her my res # she said she couldn't do anything b/c I had booked through AAA and I would have to call my AAA agent to make changes. I had no idea. Problem is I don't trust my agent to get it done- she is hardly ever in office and takes forever to return e-mails or calls.
Would have made res on my own but at the time there were no other discounts but AAA.

Travel agents own your reservations and must make all changes and modifications to WDW reservations.

If you do not buy the dining plan. You could book a AAA room only with Disney and buy the tickets at the AAA office at a discount and usually get a free park parking pass too.

We usually go this route because a room only discount at a deluxe is usually a better deal than free dining with a rack rate room. Our Disney dollars from our Disney Visa usually covers our food too.

I called right at 7 from my cell, waited on hold for an hour and ten on that. I called at 7:20 on my home phone (because when i called from the cell there was a different menu prompt set than usual), and THAT line picked up at 8:20. So about an hour on hold.

We were at the BC Villas but moved to the BC with a pool view, added a night and extra park day and saved $104 total. Not the best savings but I'll take it. Ended up on the phone for an hour and 40 minutes total. Blech!

EDITED: Called back this afternoon, downgraded from pool to garden view and saved a ton. Our initial 8 night stay at the villas (the base level room) was $4366. We added a night and a park day and are now paying $3704. $662 saving is well worth all the time on the phones today.

I dialed two different numbers with 2 different phones at 7am this morning. I listed to Joe (black***) and just kept saying, "agent, agent, agent" and they picked up and I was never on hold. The 7211 number went through before the other. I got our POR, standard room for 9/2 thru 9/10. :cool1:

I got "All circuits busy" a couple of times, but around 10:30-11am I called and got right through. I just kept saying "Operator" after I was prompted by automated voice that directed me to resort reservation. And I didn't have a wait, it rang straight through to a CM.

We're booked into POFQ garden view for 8/24-9/1 since January. DW called this morning to see what we could save. I had already priced out Deluxe RO etc. The only way I saw to save some money was switching to POR or another mod. Even family suites would have cost us more. I told DW that if they offered any kind of discount for our room to just take the money and stay in FQ. We got about 10% back on our room. That's an extra couple hundred bucks into the splurge fund for the trip.
