Has anyone had experience with Synvisc treatments?

Yesterday my Orthopedic Doctor told me I have arthritis in both knees. He is recommending that I try Synvisc treatments.

From what I understand it is a series of three shots injected directly in the knees. One shot per knee for three weeks. According to their website the treatments replaces damaged synovial fluid with a substance similar to that found in healthy joints of 18- to 27-year-olds.

After the shots I would not be able to run for 30 to 60 days but I could do bike, elliptical, etc. Since we are so close to the Minnie I would not get the treatments until after that.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
John

I don't know if it is what my Mom had, but she did get something injected in her knee and said that the substance helped for a bit of time. This was after the cortisone injections stopped working for her.

Whatever you decide, I'm WISHing you the best results!
