Has anyone had adverse affects from NyQuil?

I've been been sniffling, sneezing and coughing this week so I decided I'd take NyQuil liquicaps to help me sleep last night. About 5 this morning I woke up feeling dizzy and nauseous which I thought was weird since it isn't how I usually feel with a head cold. But I didn't really think about it and just went back to bed.

Tonight, still feeling crummy, I decide to take them. It's been about an hour and a half since I took them and I'm feeling nauseous and dizzy again. Not so much so that I think I'm going to vomit just kind of queasy.

What's weird is I've taken NyQuil before when I've had a cold and it's never made me feel this way. I'm not over using them. I took the recommended dose of the two prepackaged pills. And I'm not taking any other medicine that it could interact with. I'm just really wondering what's going on.

Has anyone else had any reactions from taking NyQuil?

Yeah, that's what they do to me also. Yuk! I take a child's dosage of liquid night time stuff and it will knock me completely out. Seriously, if I took some of that stuff and my house caught on fire, I'd never wake up to make it out! I don't handle Nyquil well....I take a store brand.

Yup, NyQuil knocks most people out but for me it makes me wired and jumpy and dizzy so I stay away from the stuff. Same for benedril too. Tylenol pm is the only thing that helps me when I have problems sleeping that is associated with pain.

I can't handle Nyquil. It puts me out for about 2-3 hours...then I wake up and can't go back to sleep.

Did you know that Benadryl and Tylenol PM are the same drug???

I took some DayQuil, once.

Made me feel like my brain was slightly unplugged. If I turned my head, for a second or two I would continue to see what was there before I turned.

I can't take Nyquil. It makes me feel like a bad acid trip; the last time I took it, the walls were breathing and bugs were crawling out of them. :tilt:🕷

I stick with the Tylenol cold medicine now, lol.
