We recently booked a room and parking at the Millenium hotel buffalo airport after hearing about it on the disboards however now am getting nervous after reading some less that glowing reviews on the tripadvisor site.:scared1:
It is a great price and right by the galleria mall which is a plus for us. I can deal with ok decor etc but it must be clean and safe.Any input would be helpful as cannot decide to stay ther or switch to the homewood suites which are great but a bit more money.
Thanks for any comments

Stayed there twice.
Perfectly fine. No problems.

As helpful as Trip Advisor can be it can be a bit misleading for example.
We stayed at the Radisson At The Port when we took the Disney Cruise based on the glowing reviews in Trip Advisor. What we found was a smelly dump of a room in horrible condition, rude customer service and overpriced(no rooms available to change to ).

I don't know about the Millenium but I do know about Tripadvisor. Last year we booked an all-inclusive trip to the Dominican Republic. We didn't have a big budget to work with so we had to book a 3.5 star resort. After I booked it I came across Tripadvisor and after reading all the reports I was in a real panic about the resort that we chose. There were about 20 reviews and 19 of them were VERY negative. Turns out NONE of it was true. We did not have a single problem. Later I mentioned it to a friend who travels alot and she said that in her experience Tripadvisor is way off the mark.

I've stayed at the Millenium Buffalo three times (once in a renovated room in the tower, and twice in a standard room).

The standard rooms are dated, but the hotel was adequate -- I'd stay there again without any hesitation.

we stayed there in May of 2006 and it was fine great price and our car got to stay there for the 12 days and free shuttle to airport and back when we arrived home! Our room was ok , you walked out to the court with pools , alittle dated but the bed was soooooo comfertable!

We stayed there last year and had no problems whatsoever. Our flight left very very early in the morning and the shuttle worked just fine.

We stayed there this past December.

We thought it was fine. Good location if you want to go to the Galleria. The pool looked nice but the water was cold!

:cloud9: Thank you so much everyone for your helpful responses.I can now return to packing with a less stressed outlook!:goodvibes I am now looking forward to our short stay in Buffalo and hope to get to go shopping the night before our plane leaves.I guess I'll be more careful of how I interpret tripadvisor reviews from now on!

Yup, just fine with us too. Handy to the mall if you head down early and the shuttle was convenient coming and going.

Have fun at WL - we loved it there!

No worries!

We spent the night before our flight in December and also stayed when we returned in January!:thumbsup2 The shuttle driver even let us stop at the car to get our winter coats out!

This hotel is used by a lot of the airlines for their staff!

Enjoy!

You are absolutely correct.
Most folk send in reviews to Trip Advisor when things go wrong, but as you might expect if you or I have a nice experience the chances of us contacting Trip Advisor to report it is minimal.
