Has anyone gotten in early to an 8:30 BOG res

Has anyone gotten into MK with the 8:05ers with an 8:30 reservation at Be Our Guest?

What time guests are allowed entry before opening time is dependent upon the CMs who happen to be working the gates on the day of your ADR.

All you can do is arrive early and ask.

I thought the early entry was allowed for anyone with an ADR at or before 9:00 AM. That's what we were told at DHS last year for a Sci Fi Star Wars breakfast unless I'm remembering wrong.

I believe you are allowed in up to 30 min. before your reservation to have ample time to get back there.

While that's a good estimate, it has no bearing on what WILL happen when arriving on any particular day at any particular park.

After spending a bit of time on these boards, it's safe to say that there are many occasions when guests have encountered other situations at the gates.

All that's safe to say is that you can show up early and ask.

In most cases, that can and usually does happen.

However, what is in particular question is just how early the ADR, and how early the gates will open for regular guests, and how early the guest intends to enter.

All variables that can affect "getting in early."

All that's safe to say is that you can show up early and ask.

You would know over anyone Robo! I agree- you never know with CMs. Now that I think of it I remember having an 8 am reservation once at HS and they didn't even let us in until 8 so we didn't get back there until 8:15- we were a bit annoyed with that one. That was the only time though but it does happen!

Put on my best smile and ask nice, huh? :). I guess that's the best I could ask for :).

Our goal is to just eat breakfast and be out by the interior ropes before the main rope drop. Since it's not a character breakfast I would assume it would be a little quicker? I've heard so many people that have gotten into the first group of reservations at CRT and CP even though they have an 8:15 or 8:20 reservation - but 8:30 is pushing it a little bit (in my opinion) to get let in pre-8am.

"Normally", depending on how big the ADR list is for given time frames that morning, the usual time is 15 minutes prior to your ADR. We don't want to create a long line waiting to enter (don't have all that much space available) so it can vary somewhat. Anything past park opening time (the ADR would be at x:15 or later) does not go in early.

Thanks for the input! Even if we got in at 8:15, that might not be the end of the world...since it's not a character breakfast. Can you tell I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible? :)

So just to clarify if your time is 9 am you get in at 9 am/ 9:05 you get in at 9:05? I would have thought they gave you time to get to your ressie so you aren't late.

I'd sure try and get that 8:30 time moved to an earlier time. I had 8:15, then learned the trick about putting a specific time in rather than just breakfast and got mine moved to 8:00. 8:30 is going to be really tough to get done before rope drop. Good luck!

Another fact that I alluded to earlier is that it can also depend on exactly what time they open the gates of the park to regular guests that day.
Similarly, if it's an AM EMH day, that can affect whether ADR guests can get in "early."

I'm erring on the side of caution, here.

Nobody knows exactly what will be the case on YOUR given morning, so be ready for
any possible situation.

And, don't be unprepared for the situation if you don't get in "X minutes early,"
as that can vary all the time.

9:00 would get in by 8:45. Reservations are usually in 15 minute increments so the next would be 9:15 and would go at park opening.

That might be true, (maybe "ought to be true") but sometimes it is not.

Why am I stuck on this?

Because I have been keeping track of the "We didn't get in for our ADR on time because they said…"
threads for years and years.

Better to be prepared for the worst, and be pleasantly surprised if all works out better.

Also, ADR's (at least at most WDW restaurants) are not only booked in 15 minute increments.
They are generally booked at 5 or 10 minute intervals.

Used to be (going back 4 or 5 years) we weren't very "restrictive" on early ADR entries, then along came Elsa & Anna. The rest, as they say, is history. Things had to change as too many guests were coming in with ADR's and trying to find ways to get early in line for the meet & greet. Then along came an "ADR times list" (always had one but usually didn't even use it, just looked at guest confirmation times and waved them through) and some additional early entry restrictions.

Things aren't as bad now as they were last year but time restrictions are still there. Are they enforced all the time, the short answer is no. A lot is dependent on the line length for the entry after going thru the Touch-Point and before entering the park. If the line backs up (not a lot of space available for backup) generally they will get in earlier.

No hard & fast rules, just dependent on how things go on any given day and how the CM with the list chooses to work his position to keep guest flow workable and efficient.

Had an 8:20 today, was let in at 7:45 with everyone else who had a pre-opening ADR, we were the first party into BOG this morning, and likely the first one out. So Yes - sorta.

Well...I followed your advice and I got my time switched! Something opened up! So now I am 8:10- and the CM told me to be there 15 mins early.
