I have been checking for the past couple weeks for the flights to go down but havent had any luck. In 2011 we had flights for only 69.00 one way. Are the prices going up or do they still drop that low ? Right now the cheapest I can find is 150.00 on the way and 190.00 for the return flight. Thanks for any info :)

I'm not sure where you are flying out of but the absolute cheapest I've seen SW out of Louisville was $103 OW. I booked my October flights pretty much exactly 3 months out and I got NS for $107 each way. I haven't seen anything drop below this rate.

We didn't decide to book the vacation until June and were lucky to get NS both ways out of Chicago (Midway) for $99 each way. :yay::dance3:

I've checked every day since then and haven't seen anything cheaper (not even during the sale in July). I checked today and I see that I could get one way for $126 which seems somewhat reasonable, but I've seen as high as $200 one way too.:headache:

People always say that you just book when you see a price you can live with, and I agree with that. Since I have miles with Southwest, I usually book through them and I love that I can get a "refund" into future flights. I also love the lack of baggage fees and that there aren't a bunch of different seating sections I can't afford just because they have 3 extra inches of leg room.:sad1:

I've never flown from Ohio though so you might be used to lower prices.

Yes, Southwest has increased their prices, but when I compare them with other airlines, SW is still the cheapest. Of course, that depends on where you want to go.

Not too long ago they'd jack up their prices two weeks before a flight. Recently I booked 3 wks ahead of time, and they had jacked up their prices high enough we almost decided not to go. The trip was for a family wedding, and we really wanted to see the rellies, or we would've stayed home. Fortunately we had enough miles to pay one way, so it wasn't quite so outrageous. Meanwhile, I checked again two weeks before the flights, and they'd jacked them up even higher. pffft.

Yeah I hate it when they jack them up. I'm beginning think this trip may cost to much unless they go down. Actually it all depends on if we can get low airfare.

We live in Ohio too. I have been flying out of Detroit for years because Delta had been cheaper to fly then others. However southwest recently came to Dayton taking over AirTran. Not the cheapest at all, but still closer. Best I have seen is the 99 each way far. I am hoping they have this sale for our may trip. Columbus offers more non stops but runs higher

We flew AirTran out of Akron in March. I booked my tickets in the first days after the fare was released. The price didn't go down at all in the next 6 months.

Columbus tends to be cheaper from what I've seen.

We have been flying AT from Atl to MCO for over 7 years and this is the first year we haven't seen better pricing on our flights in December when we booked in July. This will be the first year we won't have a credit to use. The $49 one way ns flights are a thing of the past. A lot less ns flights daily to MCO too. They are showing a lot of one stop flights and i don't get why I would want to layover in NC on my way to MCO.
If SW keeps that up we will be switching to Delta to fly to Florida.

Well maybe there is hope. We can fly from Dayton,Columbus, or Cincinnati and it is about the same distance from where we live. Cincinnati is high and so far Dayton is the cheapest.

Yes Columbus used to be the best place to fly out of but so far they have no ns and the price is 155 or more one way. I guess that is not that bad but I would like the 69.00 that I have gotten before lol.

Yes some of their stops make no sense NC :crazy2: thats crazy and way out of the way.

I was able to book RT SFO/MCO and MCO/OAK for my next trip for $280. Coming from the west coast, that's a pretty good deal. Oakland is closer to me than SFO, but it's always more expensive. Using both airports works fine for this trip. I can get home late in the evening and not have to go too far where I live.
