... at the Swan or Dolphin using the Entertainment book? Just curious because I read at Mousesavers that this was possible. Seems like it wouldn't be much more to stay at one of these resorts than a moderate, if that were the case. My family and I only need one night (May 16) before our DVC ressie begins at BCV, and I'm currently in the process of trying to decide where to stay that night. Do you think this would be a good plan as opposed to staying at a moderate?? Would it be possible to get a rate under $150 a night?

Thanks for the information,
Sarah

We booked a room at the Swan for 2/24-2/28 and got a 50% discount. I am a disney club member, but the entertainment rate was listed also. We are paying $179/night. I've seen postings from nurses and gov employees getting special rates of $129, but I haven't heard of any other discounts.

I just booked a Jr. Suite at the Dolphin and got 50% using AAA card. I got a 2 room suite for $340 /night which I know is still a lot of money, but the deluxe resorts are going for much higher for just a regular room. (with no discount)

The rates at Starwood Hotels (Swan and Dolphin) went up mid year 2002. The 50% off is 50% of the rack rate which is really up there! 50% of the standard room--no balcony, no view-- is $202 + 10 resort fee and 11% tax. At least that's the rate I see on the web site. Would be interested in whether the 179 rate that MichiganMommy posts was for this coming Feb?

They do offer great discount of 129 a night to nurses, teachers, government workers but to me, it looks like they are making up for that by what they are charging then rest of us.

I started out with a reservation last year at Dolphin but switched to BW. For 179 got standard room with balcony and view of Epcot. With Swan Dolphins current rates, why would I pay 202 when I can stay in the same area for less and have a balcony.

Someday, I will stay at one of these. I'm chasing Starwood points and will be able to use points to bring the price down. You can read all about that on the Swan/Dolphin info thread. If I could get the nurse/teacher/gov discount, I would definately try these hotels!

We got two nights July 5 & 6 for 163.50 + tax + $10 resort fee with entertainment card. Have had these ressies since Oct. I think.

You guys are the best! The only reason I started thinking about it was that it would be very convenient to move from the Swan/Dolphin to the BCV once our room is available there. Sounds like it would be a fair amount more than a moderate with a code discount (which I'm hoping will become available soon for May!), however, since we'll need 2 rooms (one for my family of 5 and one for my mom).

Thanks again for the information,
Sarah
