Posted on Photo board but no reply yet.
I can get one off E Bay for £350 with a couple of lenses but I would like to know if anyone has this camera and do they rate it????

I haven't got this kit but in the next few days I'll be buying a new 350D so I would be intersted in any "reviews" from Disers.

Alan,

You can get a review and compare the 300D with the latest cameras on this website:

http://www.dpreview.com/

Compared to the 350D it's 6.3MPixel compared to the 350Ds 8MPixels, and it's heavier and larger than the 350D. Apart from that it's about the same spec.

I've had the 300D for about 2 years now. It has renewed my interest in photography again. Very easy SLR to used and now with 1Gb card from 7day shop is just a dream :goodvibes
I like the look of the 350D but not enough to trade in the 300D.
I've the original lense along with my new best friend the 28 - 105mm :thumbsup2

Sorry missed your post on the photoboard

If you are willing to spend an extra £200 you can get the 350D, but this will be without the extra lenses - but with warrenty.

The 300D is a fantatic camera. For that price I would get it. Just make sure of the usual e-bay issues like ratings etc.

We've had a 300D for a while now, and I think it is really good. As Tim says the 350D is a little more compact and higher pixels, but a more money.

Personally I'm not too sure that the 350D being smaller is a good thing. A friend of ours has the comparable Nikon, and IMHO it is not as easy to use as it is a little smaller, and, I don't think it takes as good a pic as the Canon.

In short a very good camera, which is easy to use and takes good quality pictures. You definitely won't be disappointed.

I've got one, I love it to bits and recommend it highly. Has anyone ever found any websites/nbooks that teach you how to use it?? I'm still at point and shoot mode!

Try looking at photography magazines, they often have tutorials on different topics. Also, try looking at what the camera is doing in different picture modes and it may help you understand what things like aperture mean and control. Also, the good thing with a digital camera is you can play around wikth it, without spedning loads of money on developing.

I missed the 300D camera and having posted on the photography board I am know going to save up a bit longer and get a Nikon D50 and 2 x lens kit.
Matt how come I have not seen any of your pictures in the competitions???
I best you have got some cracking shots.

Cheers

Tony

Tony - what competitions? I've got some nice snaps, but not sure if anything better!

Just out of interest, why did you decide on the Nikon over a Canon? Must go and have a look and find these photo boards!

You might want to see if you can find a camera shop which lets you try the cameras before you buy. Also, have a look here DP Review they may have some info on the comparisons between the Canon and Nikon.

Take a look on the photography board they do a competition or 2 per month some with a disney theme and some without.
I have checked out the DP Review as there or lots of links to it on the photo board.
I'm Looking forward to seeing some of your handywork :thumbsup2

Cheers Mate

I have the comparable Nikon and I find it very user friendly! This is my first DSLR and I was worried I would find it difficult to use but not at all! I recently added the sigma 70 - 300 lens and I am very pleased with the results.

Tony - you will be pleased with the Nikon!

As mentioned check out DP review - you will get some good tips here! :thumbsup2
