I am in Disney withdrawl here!
My trip isn't until November but I want to go NOW! I was thinking on flying down for a couple days....Thurs - Sun/Mon. Just enough time to get my fix!

Has anyone ever gone to DIS for just a couple of days?

was thinking of doing the same thing myself - however, the airfare cost for a quick trip is prohibitive.....plus the wife feels we need to go somewhere else for a change :confused3

We've done a couple 3 night weekends several times. We already have APs so if we can get a good airfare we go.

If airfare was cheaper I'd much rather do two 4 day trips a year vs. one 8 day trip as we usually do. It would be nice to have 2 things to look forward to, and the long trip gets to be a grind by about day 6.

I did two three night trips this year. But it was only my husband and I. We left the kids at home. If we had of taken the kids we never would have done all the stuff we wanted to do and in that case three nights would not have been enough.

Keep searching for cheap airfare. You might find something.

Planning on Buying APs this summer since we own DVC now. So, I plan on doing a quick trip next Dec. to see the decor etc. (3 day) but ONLY If I can get a cheapy flight. I definitely want to do this to get a "fix" between trips too. But, for that one I think it will be mother and daugher bonding time only.

Yes, the cost of airfare is a big deterrent for a short trip. The airport taxes at Toronto Pearson are a killer. I often fly out of Buffalo but I haven't been able find any cheapies. I'll just keep looking.
I like the idea of doing two 4 day trips a year!

We're going this year for 4 nights / 5 days. Mon-Fri. The cheap airfare ($480 CDN for 3, return), is actually what clinched the deal for us. By skipping the weekend, we got cheaper airfare and cheaper hotel rates.

Is going to Orlando for a quickie any different than going to Vegas? Plenty of people think nothing of doing Vegas for repeat short stays.

we do this quite a bit and in fact are going in March for 3 day disney cruise and 1 day at the parks and then back and we just booked discounted trip in May for Fri-Mon - fly in really early on the Friday and then come home late on the Monday - two vacation days....not bad. Hope you have fun planning....oh, and we always fly out of Detroit or Buffalo for these, the air fare is too much from Toronto..

That is a good point about Vegas!

What airline is the $480 airfare for 3 from? Is this out of Buffalo? :thumbsup2

Right...we used to go to Vegas 3-4 times per year for 4 nights at a really high cost....like $1000 per night.

I found out last Monday that I will be off work for at least 10 days and I have been back and forth over going to WDW for a few days with my DD. I have found cheap flights and there are a few different days open but the resorts are busy with little choice...it's MLK weekend. I'm still thinking about it.....maybe leaving this Tuesday and return on the weekend. I think it will cost me about $1500 so I have to balance that with the posibility of taking a March Break trip this year. :confused3 Can't do both.

We have done it, we went at the end of july for 3 nights. It was way to expensive and not worth it.

I felt like we had just got there and then we had to leave. It made me even more depressed.

Indigodisney - we're going out of Buffalo with JetBlue. I think it's the Monday / Friday flight dates that helped make it so cheap. The total cost was $430 US, but with exchange it worked out the the $480 CDN.

Oh, if the dollar had only been at 97 cents then!!!

I do sometimes but only because my mom lives in Ft. Lauderdale, and so when I visit her, I have been known to add in an unplanned WDW visit. Usually in Jan, it's the shorter visit. Have gone for as little as 3 nights. As long as 6 nights in Jan. visit. In August we have our long visits, usually WDW for 9 or 10 nights. I work in a high school. It's all about the time off. In Jan it's semester break, short. Summers are off.:cool1:

1998 the year Animal kingdom opened... we did a 2 day trip. 1 Day at AK - and the second day we did DTD, and the Boardwalk resort...

Thanks Busyshrew - that is a great deal! We are flying Southwest out of BUF in March and it was almost 700 with the early check in thing....for 3 of us. Have a great trip!

My wife did a quicky long weekend trip in September from Halifax. Used Avion points to get her down with some friends. Great whirlwind trip, 2 of her friends had never been there, and I kept the boys. I was really jealous, but they were able to do and see quite a few things in some relatively empty parks.

Last year DH and I flew down Tues morning and than home Thurs evening. It was our first time away without the kids in 15 years so it was enough time. We had airline credit and AP's so it was very cheap. I also took my DD for her 12th birthday for two nights. We still had airline credit so DH took DS for two nights also and they did the Keys to the Kingdom tour so there trip was a little more costly.
I would suggest it if you can get good deals. It really does help with the disney withdrawl.
