Has anyone found this mini - misting fan?

we've gone to Wal-Mart, no luck. ....we went to Target, the guy looked at us like we were speaking French. Bass Pro Shops don't have them. I realyl wish someone had them around here !!

Me too! I went to CVS & Walgreens today, no luck.

I'm going to try Dicks and K-Mart and then I'm done. I guess I'll buy them online. I found a good price online, but I have to order 12. I don't really want that many, but I'm ok w/ it since the last 3 I had ended up breaking after a couple of years.

If you want to buy 12 of them, www.thegreathardwarestore.com has them for under $3 each before shipping. They charge some crazy $16 to ship, but it still comes out to under $4 per fan when all is said and done. You have to order a minimum of 12 though.

I'm probably going to end up ordering from here if I can't find any this weekend.

I bought mine at Walmart here in NJ. They were located in the camping section.

We found those exact ones at a Kmart in PA and used them in the parks last week.

They worked great! Small and they can clip to a belt loop or fanny pack!

Success at Dicks Sporting Goods. They were by the water & pool toys. They were $5.99 each.

Thanks to whomever suggested Dicks.

I can't believe my Walmart did not have them. I searched every section of that store, including all the endcaps.

I'm just glad I can stop searching, 6 stores later.....

So which mister would you bring? I have one of the big ones and we always share it but this year we are stroller free. I'm trying to make my haul light as possible. I think these are a good size for the kids but do they really work that well? How much water does it hold?

I like these fans too, but always have problems with water leaking from misting fans. Do these leak at all?

As far as how much water it holds, if you look at the picture...all the area, except where the battery compartment is, holds water. For reference, they're a little bigger than palm size.

As for leaking, neither of ours leaked on the first trip. On the second trip, mine leaked once, but I had been fiddling with the stopper so it was probably user-error.

We keep ours in our bags and pull them out when needed. The "blades" on the fan are foam and can bend up in your bag. If they get bent or the fan isn't blowing strongly, take each blade and bend them away from the mister and squeeze the ends together, its all fixed and works well.

At my Walmart these were $4 each. They were with all the other fans, but still hard to find since they had fans in 3 areas... seasonal, one row between auto and hardware, then back wall of hardware! Of course it was in the 3rd area I looked in.

None at Bed Bath & Beyond Belief. (Oh, sorry, I added that last word.)

Our Wal-Mart had 1 left in the aisle with the big fans. I don't know the price, because it was tossed in a display box with a different type of small fan. No sign or sticker indicating the price. None in the camping section, the swimming section or the hanger section.

When I went to Dick's, the employee in the front of the store suggested I try:
- the shelves near the cash register: no luck
- the camping section: no luck
- the swimming section: there were about 6 left.
As someone else mentioned, they were $5.99.

I haven't tried them before. I got them as a gift for someone who is going in August. You get great gift ideas here on the DIS!
