Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has used this airline before? We are travelling in Aug on a monarch flight from Manchester.

We have paid for the premium package and seats. The reason being I have degenerative discs in my spine and staying in the same position for a long time causes sereve pain and stiffness.

On previous trips we have used thomas cook they were great and even allowed myself on the medical seats after my doctor wrote a letter. I was able to stretch out.

Does anyone know if a monarch plane is similar? What are the seats in the premium cabin like? Any comments on food, service would also be welcomed.

I am looking forward to wdw but am slightly nervous about the flight.

Thanks :cheer2:

I have only flown with Monarch to Europe about 15 years ago so no help there.

I hope for your sake they're better than Thomas Cook were last month when we flew with them to join a P&O cruise in Barbados. Despite being allocated a medical seat in their Premium Cabin, I was in severe pain all the way home as there was only about 2" more legroom than Economy. On the outward journey, I was given a seat in Business Class as they had chartered a 747 from an Argentinian Airline.

They ( Thomas Cook) are helpful to passengers with a medical condition, but their planes are dire. The charter airlines are much of a muchness I'm afraid.

We flew to Palma with Monarch last July but I've never flown on a long haul with them (but then I've only been on long haul the once so it hardly surprising really). From what I remember the food was pretty good, although some of the flight attendants were a bit "snooty" if you know what I mean - some couldn't do enough others anything was too much trouble and that just included answering a question! However as this was only to Spain it probably isn't a fair comparison as these short flights can leave the flight attendants very harrassed. The food on the way back wasn't as good but that frequently happens on the way back from Spain.

Hi

We flew Monarch last Oct and we've flown with Thomas Cook on a previous trip, both to FL.
We didn't fly Premium seats on either plane though.
I think I prefered Thomas Cook as the plane was newer and there seemed to be a little bit more leg room.
Saying that we did have a pleasant flight with Monarch. Stewardessess were fine, as was the food.
Would fly with either of them again...if the price was right ;)

Thanks all for replies

Squitty I love your dogs, I have 3 border collies !!!

We have flown with Monarch once before (not to Florida though) and never had any problems with them, the food was rubbish but then again i never eat the food on any airline.

HI

We flew to Orlando with Monarch back in 1999 and they were fine. The aircraft was an Airbus - we managed to check in early and got emergency exit seats! The staff were great and the food fine! The only thing we did not have was seat back tv's!! Don't worry about the flight it will be fine... I would travel in the cargo hold if it mean't I got to wdw :teeth:
