The flights I've been checking out of Philly in May for our WDW trip haven't gone down yet - been checking w/USAIR. The tix were for as little as $316 (for 2 people) back in December - however, I decided to wait a little bit, & now the tix have been holding at about $500. Spirit will fly out of Atlantic City & the cost is about $388 for 2 tix. The times are when I wanted to fly (7:00 a.m. out, 6:10 p.m. return.) A friend of mine swears by Spirit & uses them at least 2x/yr. Just wanted more opinions, experiences. I've never flown out of AC before as it's a little further than Philly to travel for us, but if I can get a cheaper rate - AC here we come!!! Any help is appreciated!!

ugggg Eagles just lost - bumping

but I'M STILL GOIN' TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!:pinkbounc :pinkbounc

I've flown out of AC on Spirit many times in the last 3 years, and have no complaints whatsoever. For the price you pay, you certainly can't beat the service. I'd definately reccomend them! :)

Thanks for your help Debi, I'm def. leaning toward them right now. YIPPEE - only about 110 days to go!!!!

If you can, definately fly with them. They're inexpensive and convenient - how far are you from Atlantic City?

I've flown Spirit many times and love the convenience of AC,very little hassle,no traffic and the parking now only costs$3.50 a day.It used to be free but it was hard to find. Many more people are discovering AC airport. The flights are more crowded than they used to be and consequently the prices are sometimes more than we were used to paying. but given the choice9even if the flights were the same price, I'd pick AC airport. We're flying at Easter to MCO.

We're in Mt. Laurel, near Cherry Hill. Close to Philly, but not that much farther to AC. I've never driven to AC airport before & will most likely take a "test drive" when the weather gets a little better - although it can't get better than it has been for January!!! The Spirit flight leaves at 7:00 a.m. so we'd probably have to leave in around 4:45/5:00 a.m. (I haven't been up that early since my 12 y.o. was an infant.) Do you suggest having a van take us or just leaving the car for the week? Have you ever left your car at the airport that long? Is it safe? I have really no concept of the airport there. Thanks again for your help!!!

I've left my car there for up to two weeks at a time. They just opened a regular parking lot that charges which is supposed to be more protected although I've never heard of any problems before. It used to be difficult on busy weekends to find a spot before now but that is supposed to be remedied. Many of the "snowbirds" used to leave their cars there for months when it was free. AC airport is really not in AC. It's in Pomona. It's really rural. Nothing else is nearby except the FAA Center and the National Guard fighter wing. I've always felt extremely safe there. That 7 AM flight is tough to make because you have to get there so early due to the new security, but you are at MCO at 9:15. Enjoy your trip.

My DW and I are flying Spirit out of ACY this Sunday -- It will be the 4th time we've flown Spirit in the last 2 1/2 yrs. Not fancy but seems reliable. We'll be on Flight 311 -- that infamamous 7:00 AM departure. Plan on leaving home about 4:15 AM (argh!) but we're scheduled to be on the ground in Orlando at 9:30 AM -- With a little luck, we'll be in Epcot before noon!!!!! I would suggest using Spirit without hesitating.:) :) :)

We have tix for May 11 flight 311 - 7am out of AC. We always fly out of Philly but decided to try AC this time. $172 RT is an excellant price. (My sister has flown out of there before and never had a problem she is also flying with us this time). We only live approx 10 to 15 mins from there.

what time does everyone suggest that we arrive for a 7:00 a.m. flight? Keep in mind, I'm not very much of a morning person anymore.:p :p

I'm at the airport by 5:00 for the 7:00AM flight. AC airport reccomends arriving 2 hours prior to departure, but, from the time I check in until I'm at the gate is usually 15-20 minutes. The AC airport is small, so it doesn't take long to get to the gate from the check-in counter.

We've flown out of both AC and Phila. We prefer AC because of it's low-key, laid-back atmopshere. They used to offer free parking; however, our neighbor just informed us that they now charge $8/day.

As far as US Air prices for May, we got our tickets for $250/each, round-trip from Phila., direct from US Airways.
