Has anyone every tried this on Airtran...getting on an earlier fight on same day??

I noticed on the AirTran website that you can actually change your flight on the day of travel for 25.00 bucks. Of course you have to go to the airport...can't do it over the phone. It is not the same as standby either. You actually get assigned seats and all and are confirmed...unlike standby where you just wait it out. If so...can you share your details???

I have done it many times and never paid for it. I always got on the earlier flight.. I have inquired at the ticket counter and got confirmed on the flights.

So do you think I could go by that morning and inquire about the 2:00 flight vs. taking the 6:30 flight? If available.... Make changes then arrive for that flight later in the day?

Yes you can even call the customer service line and ask if there is enough room on that flight for you to change to.

Wow really???? I thought I would have to go to the airport to inquire??
