a dating service or matchmaker/friend service???

I know this probably sounds crazy but I am curious.

I don't have alot of friends and I hate being alone so I was thinking of maybe posting and seeing if I could make some new friends.

What do you all think, any experiences with this????

I have never used anything like this but one good way to meet friends is to join local clubs/organizations that interest you and you are likely to meet new people with the same interest.

If you play an instrument - try joining the community band. If you like to read see if your libraries have any book clubs that you could join. You can also do volunteer work which is great because you are helping someone else while also getting a chance to meet new friends.

One of my employees signed up with an agency. He paid the fee, then met his wife when he least expected to meet anyone. This was even before the agency set up his first date. Good luck to you!

I put an ad in the personals column of the Chgo Sun Times almost 16 years ago. I met one guy who I'm still friends with and he's an electrician, so he's done some things for me that saved me having to call someone to do. The other guy I met, I'm still seeing. I know 16 years is a long time to just be seeing someone, but I was 37 and he was 34 when we met and we were both pretty set in our ways. We have a lot of fun together, but it's nice when he goes home to his house and I go home to my house. He had never been to DisneyWorld before we met and now we've gone 6 or 7 times together. It works for us.
