I have considered taking US17/SR19/441/429/535/Vista Blvd from Jacksonville (I-295) to WDW (POR) as an alternative to I-95/I-4 for our next trip in March '06. I know that this route will not be any quicker, but after driving the interstate for 10+ hours to get to Jax I would like a change of scenery.
My question is, are these roads (mainly US17/SR19) good roads (i.e. no serious construction projects, not too many <40mph zones, no scary neighborhoods, etc.)?
