Wondering if anyone has ever used Road Id (http://www.roadid.com/common/id.aspx) for child identification purposes at WDW?

If you have, what are your experiences?

If anyone has used the "Ankle ID" on a toddler I would appreciate any info as I am concerned about the size.

Thanks for any help!

Can anyone share anything about this product? I saw a tip about it on the theme park boards a while ago but was looking for more details if anyone has personal experiences.

Thanks. ..

I have a road ID for myself for running and biking and I love it. I have the Velcro shoe version and it never leaves my shoe. I do think that the ankle one might be better for kids.
One thing though, the are pretty pricey ($20) and you can get ID for kids much cheaper. I have the rubber bracelets from www.shanrene.com and they were $8 with shipping for 2 and I got them in about 5 days. The road IDs have tons of room for info that may be wasted if your kids don't have medical issues.

I bought Road IDs for my husband, my son and my husband's running buddy. I got them each the shoe ID which loops over the shoe laces, the ankle strap and the dog tag style. Then they could choose which one to wear.

I bought my DH one when he started running and just bought myself and oldest DD one for bike riding. I think they are great, room for home phones and cell phone numbers too.

My husband, dad, sister, brother-in-law, and myself all have one as we all run and bike. We never leave the house without one. When my son gets older and goes out on his own he will get one, too. We all got one after a friend of my dad's was killed while riding her bike and had no id on her. The hospital called my dad to id her since he was the last call she had made on her cell phone. Horrific!!

For child id purposes, I'd use one. The wrist one would adjust well to go on an ankle.

I have one for myself and my son (6) and LOVE THEM! I recommend them every time the kid ID conversation comes up. We used that shoe ID thing the previous poster linked to on our first trip and it was a pain - and wouldn't attach to crocs or sandals anyway. I started using Road ID for when I ran and realized it was perfect for the little one, too. He's used his for several years now and he flips it back and forth between his ankle and wrist depending on what he feels like. Sometimes on a belt loop, too.

ETA: Adding that DS uses the regular Wrist ID one, but puts it on his ankle. We didn't buy the ankle specific one.

My DD and DH each have one. We used the velcro version that fit over DD's shoelaces and it worked great. We will be using it again this May. They are well made, hold up to water, and the one over the shoelaces doesn't irratae the skin like some of the bracelets can on a hot day. Highly recommend this product.

I have one myself for running and love it. I think it would definitely be good for kids as well.

My primary discipline is bike, but I use it for running and swimming. With tri season right around the corner, that comes into play.

What I have found is that for chip timing at events they use an ankle band. Having one on one ankle and one on the other would be a distraction for me.

I have running shoes and cycling shoes. Switching out to each one for a different work out wouldn't suit my needs.

So I went to a wrist type. I also have a wristband but those are so common I'm not sure that that type would stand out.

Wearing my road ID is part of my routine and part of my training. Soon after I got mine, I ordered one each for my wife and son. I made sure to let them pick out the color they'd like.

I use mine so much that I get salt on it it a lot but it cleans very easily. 2 years ago I got a 2nd one that I alternate with my original.

The one thing I'm trying to figure out when I run is that I wear a sweat wristband to wipe my forehead off. Therefore, I cover my road ID (my ironman Timex is on my left wrist).
