Has anyone ever used AAA's Disney Dining Plans?

Hi Everyone,
Just got the information in from AAA, and came across a dining plan section...4 day plan, including 11 meals/snacks over four days for $91 adult, $59 child, this includes a character breakfast at the Plaza Inn in Disneyland. From what I've been hearing about the price of counter service in Disneyland, this seems to sound like an OK deal (can you tell I've never been to Disneyland???)
I was wondering if anyone had used this plan...do you have to book the entire package through AAA to qualify for the plan, or can I book our hotel, then just buy the dining plan and hoppers from AAA? It sounds like it would be a savings over purchasing meals separately, but since I've never been to compare prices, I'm not 100% sure...any help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!!!:D

We used the Disney Dining while we were there in July. It was nice. You get a little more for your money as far as value. You don't have to carry the cash around. Pick what you want and give them the voucher. Make sure your total is a little more than the voucher. You don't get money back.

What type of places do you get your meals?? What are the snacks?? Sounds like a good deal unless there is just a limited # of places to use them at..

There were only a few places you couldn't use them at. Mostly the hotel restaurants.
We used our snack vouchers for ice cream and other stuff. It is listed on each one where you can't use them. We never had any told us we couldn't use it for any certain item. I even think my wife used one snack voucher for a corn dog meal.

Disney Dining 6-Day Plan

I figure even the smallest package comes to approximately $8.25 per meal/snack...but AAA doesn't say how many vouchers are snacks and how many are meals...From what the book says, it looks like this is the Disney Dining option, just made purchaseable from AAA.
Still don't know if it's a good deal, though, some of those cost of food posts make me nervous...I'd like to have food taken care of before we go!!! Thanks!!

When do you go on your vacation?? Would love to hear back where you used the vouchers and what you thought of the value

Here is a review on the dining plan from another website. It breaks it down into exactly what you get. Looks like the author who wrote this review doesn't care for the plan but for me and my family spending 6 days at DL it would be a signifigant savings. Check it out.

(Mods~I hope it's ok to post this link. If not, feel free to remove it :) )

One more question......for the child vouchers, are they the same as the adult vouchers? The same number and valid for the same amount?

Thanks for that link.. Looks like the longer you stay the better saving you get. I don't think I would get much use out of it since I want to try to do all the character breakfasts & goofys for lunch one day. Since you can only use the in Disneyland (and possibly DCA now) it would not be a good deal for my family. Also with the DC card you can get discounts up to 10% in the park at some places & at the DLH..
