Has anyone ever taken their desktop PC to WDW or HHI?

I know this may sound strange - but I'm considering taking my desktop computer to HHI next week. The thing is I've got a couple of things I really need to do next week on my computer and our aging laptop doesn't have WiFi (only a hardwire connection). And HHI only has WiFi. My computer is a very small Mac mini and my monitor is a thin screen monitor. It takes me about 3 minutes or so to disconnect everything and it would fit easily in a box. So I'm thinking about just packing up the computer and monitor and take it with us. Has anyone else ever done anything similar or am I the only person crazy enough to do such a thing .

Nope. You're not crazy. We just made it through airport security with our daughter's desktop. She has a small Acer Aspire that fit perfectly in a carry-on. Word to the wise - you still have to take it completely out of the suitcase/bag just like a laptop. Have a great vacation & don't do too much work!

OK, where do you store it, or do you leave it out? I really hadn't thought of taking a desktop before...and I don't have a laptop. We drive, so air travel baggage handler damage really isn't a concern.

The last time I considered dragging a desktop anywhere outside my home was right about the time the Ergo Brick was first released (1986??). However ... given your hardware situation it seem to make sense if you are driving to the resort. Enjoy your time!

We just left it out on the table. No one ever bothered with it. My children and love it because it keeps "dad" occupied and out of our hair during the day while we hit the parks!!!

Listen, Paul we will keep that your little secret. My children and I do not allow whining of any kind while we are at the parks. We have found that the sun poisoning excuse works well for us

BTW: Do you think there is a common thread for you northerners? DH is from Birmingham.

Psst - leave it home - you're on vacation! I'm a software developer and feel lost without my computer near and ready for access. But there's really something to be said for shutting the hardware OFF and letting the days pass by lazily.

That said I may have to bring the box with me on our next two trips so I can "work from home" several days and extend out my vacation time. We'll see...
