Has anyone ever stayed at Bethpage Campground

In Urbanna VA?

A group of friends are planning a trip there, and we are thinking of going along. Any thoughts or reviews?

I hope it is ok that I posted this here, but I like hearing opinions from my dis friends.

While I have never stayed at Bethpage I have many friends who have and they love it there. Hopefully this helps.

The reviews I have read are mixed. Some like it, others have referred to it as a "drunken, rowdy, frat party" atmosphere. Many have said you take your life in your hands walking or bike riding because of all the underage and drunk golf cart drivers.

I am leaning toward skipping this one, I think...especially since they are going over a holiday weekend which is bound to be super crowded...

We stayed at Bethpage once. Never again. Campers too close together and no shade. Very hot in the summertime.

We were there over Memorial Day last year and going again this year. The spots are big and shaded. There are some that are not which is what another poster mentioned but if you reserve the first 6 streets those all have large pine trees for shade. We stay on Dogwood Lane. Keep going away from the pool and you will be in more open areas with much less shade.
