AmeriSuites Hotel before? We're thinking of trying it on the way down to Orlando (stopping for the night in Atlanta). We usually stay at the Sheraton Galleria & there is an AmeriSuites right near there (with free breakfast). So....we just wondered what you thought of that hotel.

I haven't personally stayed in one but we have one near our house and when we have a lot of family in town they usually stay there. The rooms I've been in are nice and quite large. The breakfast looked pretty good as well. I wouldn't rate it as high as an Embassy Suites but I wouldn't have any hesitation about staying in one.

Keeping in mind hotels even the same brand hotels can vary widely.... I have stayed at an AmeriSuites once or twice, very similar to Homewood Suites or Hampton Suites, probably a step up from Town Place Suites but not as nice as an Embassy Suites.

Should be fine, you get more room/space than a standard hotel room.

We have stayed at 4 different AmeriSuites hotels (in MA, NJ, VA and in FL). We were always satisfied. In truth, they were almost identical. Suites are good sized but the sitting area is only separated from the bedroom by a dividing wall. The bedroom is not completely separate as it is at a Homewood or Hawthorn Suites. I like that setup a little better. They do not have full kitchenette areas but have a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and small sink. AmeriSuites does provide one of the better complimentary breakfasts with some hot items as well as the standard bagels and danish. They usually have a breakfast station where you can make your own fresh waffles.

If the price is right for the AmeriSuites, I would not hesitate to stay there.

Good luck with your choice.

Okay, so far it sounds like you'd all stay at an AmeriSuites again. We may try it out this time. As I said, we normally stay at the Sheraton but since AmeriSuites is offering a free b-fast, we thought if we read good things about it from our Dis friends, that we'd try it. The Sheraton & AmeriSuites is the same price ($89 per night) during the time we're traveling & the only diff is that AmeriSuites is offering breakfast. Being that we're trying to squeeze in this Easter trip, we're trying to keep cost down as much as possible. Now hopefully the AmeriSuites in Atlanta will be fine.

We stayed at the ClubHouse Inn & Suites in Knoxville, TN on our way home from Disney in December & that place was such a dive that we didn't even change out of our clothes. We were so tired, we had to rest, so we stayed 3 hours & then we took off. So I guess you can understand why I'm frightened to stay at something other than a Sheraton! :(

We stayed at Amerisuites in Minneapolis. It was very nice and clean. :) We would stay there again. :)

I stayed at Hampton Inn on vacation in December and liked it. They also had free breakfast. ;)

I stayed at Amerisuites in San Antonio. It was nice, and they had a nice continental breakfast, the room wasn't HUGE,but it was bigger than most hotel rooms with the sitting room/sink area/desk somewhat separated.

tricia.

We did 2 years ago on the way down to WDW. I think it was in VA. It was beautiful.

we stayed at an AmeriSuites in Charlotte, NC. Like the others said, the rooms aren't huge, but it's got a sofa, 2 chairs, a desk with 2 chairs, sink, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, iron, ironing board, extra pillow and blanket.

That said, since we got it off Priceline, for $29 it's pretty good. The breakfast was good, they had donuts, muffins, waffle station, fruit etc. The one we stayed in also had high speed internet for 9.95 for 24 hours.

It doesn't matter how large the room is...we'll just be there for one night, coming & going to WDW from MI.

PW ~ we stayed (or I should say "checked in to") a Hampton Inn on Long Island (in Happauge I believe).....& quickly returned to the front desk & demanded our money back & we left the hotel in the middle of the night & checked into a Marriott not far from the Hampton Inn. I am hoping your Hampton Inn was better than this one! Due to that experience, now I'm leary of Hampton Inns! :(

Yep, that's the one Robin. We usually stay at that Sheraton right there. Once or twice we stayed at the Murrietta Conference Center (?) that was nice but they had to change the shower curtain for us since it was full of mold! Honestly.....it seems it doesn't matter how much you spend on a hotel room anymore, you may still find it disgusting!

Is that Marrietta/Murrietta/Merrietta??

Wow! No, the one we stayed at was very nice!! I would definitely stay there again. ;) I'm kind of surprised since they're part of Hilton. But I guess each hotel is different. I know that whenever I returned to my room, I just about choked because of the great way they cleaned the bathroom.

Ahh....PW ~ I also "choked" when I saw the bathroom/Tub in our Hampton Inn on Long Island!!

Yes, I suppose each one is different. My cousin's MIL likes to stay at Club House Inn & Suites & we will never step foot in the one in Knoxville again. She stays at a different one & she raves about it.

ROFLMAO! :rotfl: Sorry for your experience! You don't seem to be having much luck with hotels! :crazy2:

Wow see it's hit or miss. We haven't stayed at a bad Hampton Inn yet. As a matter of fact that was what we were looking for when we stumbled upon Amerisuites.

You just never know.
