yes, we have stayed for a total of 5 weeks last year.
It all started with my new best friend who I met right here on disboards. Several years ago, we met, (both from the New Orleans area, but still 40 minutes from each other) so we decided to go to disney together. That year priceline was just getting started and we stayed off the grounds on the west side, for 16 nights.
The next year we stayed 3 weeks, then the next we stayed 4 weeks and last year we stayed 5 weeks.
We always had a premium annual pass, so we could do water parks and disney quest when it was too hot. Some times we stayed on the grounds if we could get a good rate, if not we did priceline. Last year we ended up with a timeshare getaway for $1,500.00 for a month, and we split it. (A full kitchen, 1 bedroom with a sofa bed) We would go to the grocery and get snacks and drinks and used our vouchers if we were going to eat on grounds.
We had a blast, but unfortunately, we did not get to go this year. My husband said that the kids needed to see some other parts of the country. (so we did the grand canyon), it was great, but now I can not wait to get back to disney. I am hoping for thanksgiving. We do not go unless we have annual passes. I just can not see paying for 5 or 6 day tickets.
Just in case you are wondering, our husbands would fly back home and go to work, and we got to stay and play with the kids. Then they would fly back at the end of the trip and then we would head home.
We got to do so many things, but I never wanted to leave. I could just live there. Now of course I am spoiled, and even the thought of a 3 or 4 day trip does not seem worth the trouble of packing.
I wish we lived in Orlando, but maybe it would get old, but I sure would love to try it.
