Yes, I do try to fix things, if I unknowingly have insulted or hurt someone's feelings.

If it's just a little flub (and not a big one): make sure you give them a big sincere "I'm so sorry!" right away. And then sometimes (and only if it's a little flub) - I might make a little joke by telling them that sometimes English is my 2nd language!

(BTW English is the only language I can speak!)

I've done that in real life a lot Sometimes my mouth runs faster than my brain. I immediately try to make it better, though.

If your human you're going to make errors in judgement, and unless your perfect you accept a sincere apology and move on like you would hope others would if you'd been the one messing up. . .


And as far as the Dixie Chick thing. . I can see why Natalie Maines clarified things and apologized for how harsh what she said was. . and I have no clue why anyone wouldn't accept it. . .?????

I think it happens a lot on the internet. If you forget that you lose some important components of communication, what you say can come out wrong. Been there, done that!

People who know me, know to say "huh?" and then I can explain. I try to give those I care about the same benefit of the doubt.

Now I have to see what this Dixie Chicks thing is about, I heard that Natalie said she was ashamed of the Pres, but didn't read more about it.

Somethings though not meant as being malicious or mean just come out as sounding like something else and everyone does it sooner or later...You can always tell as people get that hurt or stunned look on their faces. I hate when it happens, but just human nature to slip like that...
