I was thinking about doing this when I start packing next week, wondering if anyone has done this to keep there clothes smelling fresh? And how it works?
I did this the last few trips...and it worked very well. I even used them in the dryer while we were gone...(I had taken a few extra). Everything smelled so good....I also put them in the empty suitcase when we get home - keeps them fresh smelling until our next trip. Barb in Texas
Actually, we've found that the smell of the dryer sheets was a bit too strong under those conditions. We leave the sheets in their own separate bag now.
I just did this the other day. I cut up the dryer sheets into small strips. As you can see by my ticker we are not leaving for 2 weeks so I was concerned about having stale smelling clothes. I am all packed with the outfits packed in ziplocks and hopefully they will be smelling fresh when we open them in 14 days!!!!

I've gotten an outfit from an ebay seller that came with a dryer sheet in the bag. Too strong of a smell. It took 2 washes to get rid of the smell. I would put a seperate baggie with a Ziploc bag in the luggage.
I haven't done this with luggage but have put them in our dresser drawers. That works well. I could understand it being very strong in a ziplock or suitcase. The smell in the dresser is pretty strong and that's much larger.
Cuting the dryer sheet into strips sounds like the way to go.
I was going to post this exact same thing. I wonder if we had the same ebay seller? It was so bad that now I can't even stand the smell of dryer sheets, so I switched to liquid Downy.
Just be careful, there is an oil in the sheets that can ruin the fabric it is against. I put the sheet in a seperate bag, and then poke holes in the bag. I usually use a sandwich bag, as they are not as thick.
I bought a travel size bottle of Downey Wrinkle Releaser ($1.99) at Target. When you use it to smooth out the wrinkles from clothing it leaves the clothes smelling like they are fresh from the dryer.
I put them in the bags, then use them later for laundry. I use the cheap dollar tree ones, use liquid at home. Tucking inside sneakers is good too, we don't wear sneakers at the airport now, so they sit in the suitcase.
