has anyone ever popped their stitches? Innie has become an outie!

Had stitches put in last Wed when I had my laparoscopy. Have been out walking, to the fair & farm, etc.
Went back to work yesterday - busy morning - bending up n down reaching things from printer, book drop, etc - BUT not lifting heavy boxes of books, etc
Around noontime I noticed I was bleeding - I popped the stitches. Doc said just to cover with gauze, etc. So today I changed it - seems to have stopped - just a little tinge. But Im so afraid of moving now. Feel like Im back to day one - being extra cautious.

Anyone else ever pop their stitches before you were healed?

I've never popped my stitches but I'd say some extra rest would be a good thing! Stop all that bending & reaching stuff and let those around you baby you a bit while you heal!

Yup, did too much after my c-section and it opened right up. Had to rest more and the doctor said it would heal from the inside out. I didn't see how that was possible, but he was right, it did. Just take it easy. Try not to walk too much, no bending, etc.

I've had stitches get infected before, or the area around the stitch. I swam in the ocean with them. I wouldn't recommend that!

Maybe you should ask the doctor? Take it easy!

Yes I tore my stitches out after my first knee rebuild when I was 16 and that hurt like an SOB. They had to re do all the stitches man did I learn a lesson after that do not try to do more than you are told it will hurt.
