Has anyone ever left something at a resort?

I was at the Port Orleans Riverside 2 months ago and had left my dd's favorite blanket. I called as soon as we left and they said they didn't find it and that it probably went to the laundry. She said they send out the laundry and would sent out a lost item report. Well, I have called back several times and they still haven't found it. I'm so upset. I've left things before and they were really great about sending it right back. Has anyone had this problem?

yep... ds left a tee shirt behind and we filed a lost item report and even received a postcard saying that we filed the report, but never recouped the shirt...

we had a similar experience in Cape Cod. My DD-8 left her favorite doll, the one that she sleeps with every night - since she has been 3. Room was cleaned and doll was found wrapped up in the bedding...she was shipped home in great condition.

sorry, this doesn't help your situtation just wanted to chime in...

Incredibly, we left a pack-n-play at the Dolphin a few years ago. Just looked right past it when we left the room. Didn't notice when we packed the car that I had extra room. Finally noticed when we checked into our hotel in Charoltte that night and had no place for our 1 year old to sleep!

We called the Dolphin immediately, and luckily, they were able to track it down. I say luckily because it looked pretty much like the hotel's pack-n-plays that they rent out. I was worried that housekeeping would just figure it was one of theirs and throw it in with the rest.

Funny thing was, ours was a little hitchy as far as folding it up. Has to be done just so, or it just won't fold up right. Well, turns out the folks at the
Dolphin couldn't get it figured out. You should have seen the box it came back in! It was only partially folded, and it was huge! (I think they charged 30.00 to our credit card for the shipping.)

Bottom line, they were great about it. Very helpful.

I'm going to have to call again. I called for weeks, but then haven't heard anything for a while. My dd still asks about it. She's 3 1/2 and has a memory like you wouldn't believe. So she still asks about it at least once a week. I'm sure hers got lost in the laundry system, but can't imagine that they'd miss it. It was about 2 yards of fleece... bright pink with monkeys on it. I can only hope!!!

I received a post card from Disney's Vero Beach stating that we left something in the room and it was in the lost and found at VB. The post card had a code on it, so when I called they said they found a book in our room. But it turned out that it wasn't ours. But, I thought it was really nice of them to contact us and I was telling my friend who said her friend just got back from Disney and they left 3 blankets in the beds and Disney contacted her and sent them back to them.

Maybe there is hope, keep trying.

DS grabbed DH's DVC card at AKL when we were checking in and it fell and slipped behind the wall/computer area. Fortunately for some reason DVC had sent us each two cards so he had another. I promptly forgot it.

Two weeks or so after we got home from our trip, we received an envelope from Walt Disney World...in it was the card. We were very, very impressed...the area where it fell was so inconvenient that either they pulled everything apart to get it special, or the cleaning staff is incredibly thorough. :thumbsup2

We got a phone call from Disney a few days after we arrived home asking if we left a pair of men's pants in our room at Coronado Springs. It ended up being my husband's pants (didn't even know they were missing) and Disney shipped them to us at no charge!

we had the same experience at cape cod. WE left ds monkey that he has for years. we called and the sent us the monkey . 9 years later ds still has the monkey!

I left a wallet like thing with membership cards (not real credit cards, but things like the Blockbuster ID etc) in it at BCV. I could not figure out where I lost it, until they called to get an address to mail it to!

In December we left my DD's bunny in the room at the Poly, when we got home from our cruise there was a postcard in the mail saying "we think you left something, call this number"....called and they said they had the bunny and would mail it back to us!

A few years ago my youngest daughter left her nightgown in her unmade bed when we checked out of AKL . . . a few days after we got home it arrived in the mail with a nice note. I hadn't even reported it missing because I hadn't caught up on dirty laundry yet and didn't realize it was gone!

My daughter had a sweatshirt from Disneyshopping.com that she absolutely loved because it had Tink on it and it was personalized with her name. She left it on splash mountain and of course didn't notice that she didnt have it with her until later on in the day. We went back and there had been nothing turned it, so we checked a couple of times before we checked out and I also called a few weeks after we got home. Nothing had been turned in. She was so upset so I figured I would order her another one. Luckily they were having a sale on the same sweatshirt. When the box came she and her twin sister saw it was from Disney and ripped it open. My daughter looked at me in amazement and screamed "Mickey Mouse found my sweatshirt!" She was so excited so of course I just left it at that. For a few days after that she told everyone how Mickey mouse gave her sweatshirt back to her.

I have to say though that each time that I called lost and found to inquire about the lost item, they were very nice.

On one other visit my older daughter lost her autograph book somewhere in one of the parks and luckily she put her name and address on the inside cover. The book was mailed back home even before our trip was over. It was waiting for us when we got home.

We left a Tommy Hilfiger shirt that had been starched from the cleaners at AKL. I can only think that it was on the side on the closet that we didn't look at. This was Thanksgiving Weekend 05. My DH never even mentioned that he didn't have it. Last month AKL called and said that they had been trying to reach us to return the shirt and just wanted to confirm the address before they sent it back. I was so impressed, it had been 3 months. They didn't charge postage either. I do love that Hotel, it is my favorite but they have great customer service too.

DH left our cell phone charger plugged in at POR. Reported it missing after we got home, but never heard anything else about it.

Can you perhaps replace the blanket with one just like it? Do you remember where you bought it or maybe try checking on EBay. I hope you are able to replace it or get hers back. I know how upsetting it can be.

Prayers and Pixie Dust! :wizard:

we leftt a brand new soccer type ball in our room and we realized it as we were leaving the hotel to wait for the ME bus. It was right after check-out and my DH went upstairs to look but the maids were already in there and they wouldn't let him look really. Reported it at the desk right away and called a few more times over a period of 2 weeks but found nothing. I know it was there since my boys were playing with it right before we went to sleep the night before. We ahd just bought it at Epcot and were very disappointed when it was gone.

Yes, my DD left her jacket in one of the Fort Wilderness Cabins when she came home from her Graduation Trip with her friends. Called Disney, and the next few days..voila....her jacket was back in NY!

I called again today, but she said she hasn't seen it. Believe me, I tried to find another piece of material like it. I got it at Jo-Ann fabric 2 years ago and of course they don't have it anymore. Hopefully she'll get over it now. I told her again they couldn't find it and I thought she'd break out in tears, but when I told her she had the new one, she was OK. So hopefully she'll be OK now. I know they aren't going to find if if they haven't by now.

We left our king size down pillows sitting on the bed @ CBR. About 2 hours down the road, my Dh asked if I got them. UUHHHHH NO..... packing the car is your job. ;) Called CBR & they had them. Mailed then at no charge & they were delivered to us in a few days.
