Has anyone ever had anything stolen out of your stroller? I will take my camera but I was wondering about everything else. A friend of my husbands had their video camera bag stollen out of a stroller- just curious if that happens alot(which I would never leave my camera in the stroller).

My children are 8 years apart, so when I stopped pushing one stroller in WDW for one child, I started pushing for the other. I can honestly say I never had anything stolen from my stroller. I never left electronic equipment or my handbag; I think that would be asking for trouble. The only time I came close to losing something was when I left our camera on a monorail. Someone was honest and turned it into guest services by the time we got there to check.:cool1:

Only thing I had "stolen" was when I used the package delivery to my resort. This was a few years ago. My package was given to someone else without the CM asking for the receipt!

At that time they printed your cc # on the receipt, so I had to quickly cancel my cc and have a new one sent to me at WDW. The individuals who left with the package (and they had to know it wasn't their's), checked out the same day.

Disney offered to replace the items, but many were from clearance racks so I had them refund the money.

I don't believe I've used the package delivery system since.

We never leave our camera in the stroller but we have left bags a diaper bag, new purchases, snacks etc... We have never had anything taken. Granted I'm always nervous when we leave purchases and I don't recommend it but, so far we've been ok.

Last summer we bought the spray/fan bottles for my daughters and we had them in the stroller covered by a blanket and someone stoll the bottles.

Heck, Im terrified of leaving my stroller.. I have never left my stroller. When we move and are going to go frequently, I plan on buying umbrella strollers for Disney because its a cheap loss if they are stolen lol. My plan is to carry just a backpack for myself and a backpack for dh so between the 2 of us, we have everything all the kids need while there and its easy to throw on and take on the rides.

In 2006 I had my stroller stolen. We parked it outside of CP and when we came out it was gone. The worst part is it was my SIL's stroller that I borrowed just for the trip. I had to buy her a new one for $99 when we got home. Ever since I only take one that I can replace cheaply if it gets stolen.

This just firms my belief that I will never leave my stroller anywhere LOL.. if we take a nice stroller, we take turns on ride or whatever and if we all want to go on rides together, we take umbrella strollers lol

We never had anything stolen from a stroller, my boys were long out of them on our trips but we did have an umbrella stolen from under DH's chair while sitting in the tiki room, there's always someone watching for trusting people to leave something around. Linda

2 years ago we had a small bag with a mini manatee sculpture and a bag of gummy fish that was hanging on the handle when we went into the Mexico Pavillion. I didn't care about the fish, but the little sculpture was a gift that I had purchased at the living seas for my boss.

We have had a 16 dollar Disney Fan stolen out of our stroller. Don't leave anything you don't want to loose. You would be surprised at what lengths people will go to get their hands on your things.

I took a solo trip several years ago, so I noticed a lot of things I wouldn't usually see. One of the things that shocked me no end was the amount of stuff people left in strollers. I am not a thief, but if I was, the pickings were great!! There have been many threads on this board about stuff stolen from strollers. I have also seen a family totally melt down at MGM because their whole stroller got stolen. MY advice--take it with you if you ever want to see it again!

I have to be honest. I have stolen from someones stroller. I felt ashammed doing it and YEARS later I still feel bad when I think about it.:sad2:

I was visiting the Godparents of my 2 DD in Miami. GodMom and I decided to take my DDs up to WDW for the day. She brought her dad too. DDs where 3 and 4 at the time. Well GM didn't want to go on a certain ride so I went on it with my DDs and she sayed off and went to have a smoke. This was before lunch sometime. I got off the ride and she was not where to be found. All I had on me was $15. GM was holding diaperbag.

I never found her again that day. Thankfully I was meeting a friend who lived in the area for dinner that night because she actually left us there.

So as the day progressed, youngest was in terrible need of a diaper change. But I had none and my money was getting very low. I was so afraid that if I asked someone for a diaper they would think that I was a bad parent.

So I took one out of someone opened diaper bag. There was a lot in the bag so I didn't leave someone else in the same problem I was in.

Needless to say i have only seen this person once since this happened. And no I don't have it in my heart to forgive her.

I have left my stuff in strollers over & over again and never had one bit of a problem. The only time I had a problem was the day we took everything with us & left the stroller "naked." It was a Wal-Mart umbrellas stroller & someone took the whole stroller! I still say they thought is was theirs. Since then, we leave TONS of stuff in our strollers. We tie stuff around the handle, we shove jackets & bags. The only things we take with us are money & cameras.

As for the previous poster: Melissa, please stop feeling guilty. I can't think of a mom on earth who would have cared one twit to lose a diaper to such a good cause.

I agree with both comments. I'd suspect most of the "stolen strollers" are more a case of mistaken identity more than anything else. Especially if the stroller was empty. We do the same thing and make sure there is something that you can't miss on it so nobody thinks it's theirs.

I also agree that you should not feel guilty about that. As I started reading the post I thought to myself "she can't be seriously posting that she stoll something!!". When I finished and saw the issue, I can't say that I might not have done the same thing! :rotfl:

Even though this is stealing it's on a totally different level. You could have asked for a diaper but I understand the whole pride thing. It's not like you took someone's souvenirs. Honestly they probably didn't miss that diaper.

We always leave our ECV piled high with stuff. It helps that only ECV folks have the "key" to take it away. At Tower of Terror, a CM moved our ECV so far away from where we left it, we had a moment of panic. The name card hanging in front helps keep folks in the correct ECV. We never had anything stolen, although we usually only had old used stuff in it no one would want. My beat up copy of the Unofficial Guidebook is valuable to me, though. We keep our cameras, cell phones, and money in our pockets – so if disaster ever strikes, it wont be so bad.

Personally, I have never had anything stolen, but this thread reminded me of a story I read once about a family who had their stroller stolen. To keep it from happening again, DD tied a bag with a diaper in it onto the stroller handle. Then he poured Cola into the diaper to make it look like a less than desirable item to handle...never had another stroller taken!!:rotfl2:

I agree w/ the mistaken identity of the strollers. My MIL took my dd6 in dec 2005 and she brought a cheap walmart umbrella stroller. She didn't leave anything in but she did have lgmh's on it and someone took it but they had several like it so she still had a stroller and to be honest it actually worked out better for her b/c hers was defective and the one she ended up w/ wasn't.

Not from a stroller, but someone stole our DRYER - LOL!

We'd been to Blizzard Beach, and got caught in a downpour. Our beach towels got soaked, so I had to use the dryer at POP to dry them. I put them in the dryer, and we went off to eat at the food court. And when I went back to check on them, they were MOVED to a different dryer, and they weren't any drier than they had been when I put them in!
