Has anyone ever had a ring remade?

This is something I'm gonna have to think about for a while, but my mom just gave me her wedding and engagement rings. Some brief history of mine - I absolutely hate my father. He cheated on my mom 3 times (or more) and was never there for any of his kids, letting things happen in his home that never should have. All 3 of his kids no longer talk to him or want anything to do with him. On the other hand, as my mom tells me, she was SO HAPPY wearing those rings. She was really happy in their marriage (until he became a cheating *******!) and the rings represent the happiness she felt, and the marriage led to my older brother and me, so there's a lot of good behind them, too. So I guess I've got to figure out if I want to use them, but if I do, I'd want to change at least one of the stones. I really don't want an all diamond ring and really want ruby, sapphire, or tanzanite in it somewhere. Has anyone had stones replaced? Was it a huge cost?

I change things around ALL the time. The main cost feature will depend on the stone you choose. Rubies are the most expensive, then the emerald, then sapphire. For the least expensive route (and best color), you can go with a lab created stone. It is a genuine stone (not synthetic) they take the elements of nature and speed up the process in the lab. You get a much clearer stone and crisper, bolder color. So your main expense will depend on the stone you choose and the size of the stone. Good luck !

My mom has had her rings reset. The main cost is any stone you add. Other than that, the costs are pretty minimal, and generally less than buying a whole new ring.
