My family is VERY kind at restaurants and we tip very well because at one time or another we have all worked in the service industry. We try to give servers the benefit of the doubt, but my mom still has hard feelings from an experience we had at CRT.
It was back in 1994 (I think before it was even called CRT.) My family took a trip to WDW because it was our first Christmas after my dad passed away from cancer and none of us could bear to stay home. My grandfather had also passed years earlier, so it was my mom, me, my 2 younger sisters, my grandma, and my aunt. The FIRST thing the server said to us was "What did you do? Ditch all the men today?" Now, I know she didn't know about our situation, but it was just the way wrong thing to say. We just kind of shrugged it off (even though my mom was pretty upset because our emotions were obviously still very raw from our loss.) Then later throughout the meal, she made 3-5 MORE comments about not having men with us, and they were sure missing a great time, and what were they doing...golfing?? It was hard to deal with and still to this day my mom has yucky feelings/memories of that restaurant.
