Hello! I'm new to DIS but I'm going down for a site visit at the end of the month to discuss a wedding at the Pavillion for the weekend of MLK Day in January 2011. I know that it's been extremely rainy and cooler than usual this year, but I was wondering if anyone had a Jan wedding there in the past and how everything was?

Also, cost of the wedding the same as in June or is it cheaper b/c it's a low time in the year?

Thanks!:)

We got married Jan. 19, 2008 the Saturday night of MLK weekend.
The weather was cool, but it was not cold. I would rather be cool than hot and sticky. We decided on this weekend because we always travel to Disney in January and it was a three day weekend.
Friday night - Rehearsal Dinner at Ariel's and Dessert Party at Epcot
Saturday - Ceremony at the Wedding Pav. and Recp. at Grand Floridian
Sunday - Brunch at 1900 Park Fare
The prices were the same in 2008 no matter the season.
If you have any other questions let me know.
Good Luck

We were just married this past MLK weekend, on 1/17/10 which was the Sunday.

Saturday- Morning drizzle, but high around 65-68.
Sunday- GORGEOUS, partly sunny, warm but windy out at SBP
Monday- Cool during the day, chilly (sweatshirt weather) at night
Tuesday- Really warm

We were married on MLK day in 2009 (1/19/09). We had a Sat. tea party (gorgeous day), Sunday Welcome Dinner at Epcot IllumiNations (low 50s...so pretty cold to be outside) and a gorgeous and mild day for the wedding. Two days later, we had MK/Epcot pictures and it was 32 degrees in the morning.

With January, you never know what you're going to get, weather wise, but generally speaking, it's not that bad, and can be great!

As for cost, the individual items themselves aren't cheaper...but your minimums are. So, you only save money if you were planning on sticking to the lower minimum.

We were married this past MLK weekend {1/16/10}... we had gorgeous weather. It was perfect and could not ask for better! The entire following week we were in Disney and the weather was gorgeous! Very warm, we were wearing shorts!

We were married last year and we just got back from our one year anniversary this week.

Last year it drizzled one day, but the actual wedding day it was sunny and COLD. lol...it's funny now to think about it and we are just happy it didn't rain.

This year we went for a week and it rained 3 out of 7 days we were there. It was warmer than last year though we had a few nights that were chilly. The weather is a real toss up in January. Also, the price minimums and costs for a wedding might be the same for June, but the hotel room rates are drastically different given that June is a busy month with summer vacation for kids, etc. Also, keep in mind the parks are more crowded as well.
