Has anyone ever gotten a phone call from Disney upon arrival?

If so, what did they say?

I missed a call and it went to voicemail on my old phone (that we use as an ipod) because US Cellular is crap. It never showed up on my actual phone.

So it's there, taunting me, and I can't hear it.

Just wondering what they might have said...

how about you call disney or stop at the front desk and ask? who knows what it could be.

Can't you dial in to your VM? I can dial in to my cell phone's VM from any phone by hitting pound (or star, I forget which) as soon as my "leave a message" message comes on, then I enter my password. From my cell phone I just dial my own number and it goes right into message retrieval.

If that phone does not have an active number then they wouldn't be able to call it and leave a voicemail... Even if you use it as an iPod it wouldn't have service, just the wifi. I would call your cell carrier seeing your calls are still going to the old phone which means they probably have it set to that phone still.

This was in July. I did all that. I called, I went to the front desk. The person or robot who called didn't make any notes in the system as to why they called.

And yes, I have tried all possible ways of getting the voicemail but since the phone is not longer activated, I can't get it.

If it was before check in, you probably missed a free upgrade because they overbooked or had to take some rooms out of service.

We've never stayed in the campground, but at some of the resorts maybe 50% of the time we get a generic "welcome" phone call, and also another on our last night "hoping you enjoyed your stay" call. We don't always get them but most likely that is what this call was.

If there was a special occasion listed on your booking, like a birthday or anniversary, it might have been a congrats character call. We've only got those half of the time when we have an occasion noted too, but those usually come to the room phone.

Last time we went, we got a pre check-in phone call, and it turned out to be a downgrade (moved from pool view to standard view at AKL). We had only booked one night there before moving on to the rest of our trip at GF, and they comped us the night for the inconvenience, so it was fine and actually saved us quite a bit (we had booked last minute at rack rate). But a phone call is not necessarily an upgrade!
